Provided herein are composite scaffold biomaterials including two or more scaffold biomaterial subunits, each including a decellularized plant or fungal tissue from which cellular materials and nucleic acids of the tissue are removed, the decellularized plant or fungal tissue having a 3-dimensional porous structure, the two or more scaffold biomaterial subunits being assembled into the composite scaffold biomaterial and held together via gel casting using a hydrogel glue; via complementary interlocking geometry of the two or more scaffold biomaterial subunits; via guided assembly based biolithography (GAB); via chemical cross-linking; or any combinations thereof. Methods for producing such scaffold biomaterials, as well as methods and uses thereof, are also provided.

The invention is related to production of high-bloom grade gelatin from the poultry tissues (chicken, turkey, duck, goose). The goal of the invention is to develop an environment friendly process ensuring low operating cost to manufacture colorless, odourless, high grade gelatin (over 100 bloom) in line with islamic requirements from the poultry tissues.

The invention is characterised in that it is obtainable by dispersion, at a temperature ranging between room temperature and about 70 DEG C, of at least a film-forming gum or resin, not water-soluble and solubilized in at least a water-miscible solvent, in an aqueous solution containing at least a water soluble and lipophobic film-forming compound selected among proteins, polysaccharides and their mixtures, said composition having a temperature ranging between room temperature and about 70 DEG C. The invention also concerns a method for preparing said composition, kits containing same, and a method for providing a substrate with barrier properties, and their uses, in particular for making packages and particularly packages for foodstuff.

Coatings with the use of natural materials such as a paint, which contains glue as an organic matter and is to be applied onto substrates such as lumbers, an undercoating, an adhesive, etc. aiming at minimize the generation of environmental contaminants by using organic matters made of natural materials and improving the miscibility of glue with other components to thereby facilitate handling. These coatings comprise pyroligneous acid solution the acetic acid component of which acts on glue so that the glue is maintained in a liquid state even at ordinary temperature. For example, a coating serving as a paint comprises from 60 to 80% by weight of liquid persimmon astringency, from 10 to 15% by weight of glue and from 5 to 15% by weight of a purified pyroligneous acid solution (pH 3 to 4). Owing to this composition, the coating can be uniformly mixed with other compositions, thereby solving troubles in handling due to viscosity. Moreover, these coatings comprise organic matters (i.e., glue and pyroligneous acid) made of natural materials and contribute to the relief of environmental pollution (for example, air pollution and soil pollution) when employed and discarded.

The present invention provides moisture curable silicone polymers and compositions thereof, having improved resistance to automotive oil and high temperature. The silicone polymers contain terminal moisture curable functional groups and a linkage that separate the siloxane backbone from the moisture curable functional groups. The linkage confers oil resistance at elevated temperatures to the cured compositions. The silicone polymers and compositions cure by way of a condensation mechanism in the presence of moisture and a catalyst. The silicone polymers and compositions are particularly useful as sealants and gaskets in automotive powertrains.

Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zur Beschichtung von Oberflächen, eine entsprechende Beschichtung sowie die Verwendung der nach diesem Verfahren beschichteten Gegenstände. Scratch-resistant nanocomposite materials contain at least one film-forming hydrophilic colloid and at least one ceramic nanoparticle material. In particular, the film-forming hydrophilic colloid may be a gelatin, and the ceramic nanoparticle material may be alumina. In another aspect, the invention relates to scratch-resistant imaging elements comprising a support and a layer comprising such a nanocomposite material. The nanocomposite layer may be employed as an imaging layer, or as a protective layer disposed between an imagining layer and the environment.
