Abstract:
Adhesive compositions that are optically transparent include a (meth)acrylate-based copolymer having a refractive index of at least 1.48, and particles of a thermoplastic polymer. At least some of the particles have an average particle size that is larger than the wavelength of visible light. The adhesive compositions are prepared by hot melt processing packaged adhesive compositions.
Abstract:
Adhesive compositions include a blend of a non-siloxane polyurea-based polymer, a non-siloxane polyurethane-based polymer, or a blend of a non-siloxane polyurea-based and non-siloxane polyurethane-based with at least one (meth)acrylate-based pressure sensitive adhesive. The non-siloxane polyurea-based polymer or non-siloxane polyurethane-based polymer is free of free radically polymerized groups. The adhesive composition is a self-wetting, optically clear pressure sensitive adhesive. The adhesive compositions can be coated on substrates to form adhesive articles.

Abstract:
Heat de-bondable optical articles include two optical substrates and a heat de-bondable adhesive article disposed between them. The adhesive article includes a heat-shrinkable substrate and an optically clear adhesive proximate to the heat-shrinkable substrate. Optical articles can be prepared by disposing the heat-shrinkable substrate and the optically clear adhesive between two optical substrates. The optically clear adhesive covers a majority of the surface area of the optical substrates, and the heat-shrinkable substrate is located near the edge of the optical substrates.
Abstract:
Optically clear adhesive compositions contain an elastomeric polymer and a low molecular weight polymeric additive. The elastomeric polymer and the low molecular weight polymeric additive form an acid-base interaction. The refractive index of the adhesive composition is higher than the refractive index of the elastomeric polymer. The adhesive composition may also contain additional domains of liquids, polymers, additives or particles that have a higher refractive index than the elastomeric polymer.

Abstract:
Optically clear curable adhesive films that are heat conformable prior to setting include a reactive composition. The curable films are flexible and free-standing, and have a complex viscosity of greater than 100,000 poise (10,000 Pascal seconds) at 25° C. and less than 100 poise (10 Pascal seconds) at 85° C., prior to setting. The set film has an adhesive shear strength of greater than 100 Newtons per square centimeter (N/cm2) to a glass substrate when measured according to the Shear Adhesion Test Method. The reactive composition includes an ethylenically unsaturated polyester-containing oligomeric composition that is the reaction product of a saturated, amorphous co-polyester polyol and a compound with a terminal polyol-reactive group and a terminal ethylenically unsaturated group, a (meth)acrylate functional material, and at least one initiator.

Abstract:
A lamination transfer article includes an elastomeric layer with a first major surface including an array of discrete microstructures separated by land areas, wherein the microstructures in the array have a top surface; a first tie layer overlying at least some of the top surfaces of the microstructures of the elastomeric layer, wherein the land areas on the first major surface are uncovered by the first tie layer; and a second layer on a second major surface of the elastomeric layer, wherein the second layer is chosen from a second tie layer and a polymeric carrier film.
