摘要: A system for illumination during a corridor based procedure is provided, comprising: a light source; and, an optical probe comprising: a tube having a distal end, a proximal end and one or more sidewalls there between, the optical probe and the light source arranged so that light from the light source is received by the one or more sidewalls, the one or more sidewalls configured to convey the light to the distal end, the distal end configured to receive the light and illuminate a sample adjacent thereto.

摘要: The present invention provides a system and method for inserting a surgical port to minimize trauma. The system includes an access port and a guiding mechanism on the distal end of the access port, wherein the guiding mechanism has an adaptive atraumatic tip. The system also includes an introducer probe with a handle on the proximal end of the introducer probe, an atraumatic tip on the distal end of the introducer probe and a flexible body for insertion through the access port, the flexible body comprising one or more bendable elbows along the length of the introducer probe, wherein the introducer slidably engages the interior of the surgical access port to define an access path. The method includes inserting an access port down a sulcal path, inserting an introducer probe through the access port, and navigating the sulcal path with the introducer to the target.

摘要: A method in a computing device for quantitative surgical image registration includes: prior to a surgical procedure, obtaining, using a first imaging modality, a preoperative image of patient tissue and a plurality of preoperative measurements of a material property of the patient tissue. The preoperative measurements correspond to respective points in the preoperative image. The method includes storing the preoperative image and the preoperative measurements, and during the surgical procedure, using a second imaging modality, capturing an intraoperative image of the patient tissue and a second plurality of intraoperative measurements of the material property of the patient tissue. The intraoperative measurements correspond to respective points in the intraoperative image. The method includes comparing the first and second pluralities of measurements to determine a transformation for registering the preoperative image and the intraoperative image; and storing the transformation in association with one of the intraoperative image and the preoperative image.

摘要: A method and system is provided for storing and analyzing clinical imaging data. The method includes obtaining patient images from two or more modalities, registering the images, determining position information of a voxel, calculating and assigning a quality metric for the voxel, storing the voxel information and at least one searchable header as imaging data in a computer memory, and modifying or maintaining treatment based on the imaging data. The system includes a memory and a processor, the processor configured to obtain images from two or more modalities, register and store the image set in memory, calculate a quality metric for a voxel in the image set, store the voxel quality metric with the image set in the memory, and modify or maintain treatment based on the calculated qualitative metric.

摘要: A medical imaging system for illuminating tissue samples using three-dimensional structured illumination microscopy is port-based surgery is provided. The system comprises: an image sensor; a mirror device; zoom optics; a light modulator; a processor; and collimating optics configured to convey one or more images from the modulator to the mirror, the mirror configured to convey the images to the zoom optics, the zoom optics configured: to convey the image(s) from the mirror to a tissue sample; and convey one or more resulting images, formed by the image(s) illuminating the sample, back to the mirror, which conveys the resulting image(s) from the zoom optics to the image sensor, and, the processor configured to control the modulator to form the image(s), the image(s) including at least one pattern selected to interact with the sample to generate different depth information in each of resulting image(s).

摘要: Disclosed herein is navigation and simulation systems and methods for minimally invasive therapy in which the navigation system imports a planning method using patient specific pre-operative images. The navigation system uses intraoperative imaging during the medical procedure to update the preoperative images and provides images of tracked surgical tools along the surgical path prepared from the preoperative images.

摘要: Methods and systems for calculating dimensions for fabricating an artificial bone flap. Intra-operative data indicating dimensions of an opening in a portion of the patient's skull are obtained. 3D dimensions of the opening are calculated using the intra-operative data, registered to a reference image. The calculated 3D dimensions are provided for fabricating the artificial bone flap by a fabrication system.

摘要: System and methods are provided for adaptively and interoperatively configuring an automated arm used during a medical procedure. The automated arm is configured to position and orient an end effector on the automated arm a desired distance and orientation from a target. The end effector may be an external video scope and the target may be a surgical port. The positions and orientations of the end effector and the target may be continuously updated. The position of the arm may be moved to new locations responsive to user commands. The automated arm may include a multi-joint arm attached to a weighted frame. The weighted frame may include a tower and a supporting beam.

摘要: Insertable imaging devices, and methods of use thereof in minimally invasive medical procedures, are described. In some embodiments, insertable imaging devices are described that can be introduced and removed from an access port without disturbing or risking damage to internal tissue. In some embodiments, imaging devices are integrated into an access port, thereby allowing imaging of internal tissues within the vicinity of the access port, while, for example, enabling manipulation of surgical tools in the surgical field of interest. In other embodiments, imaging devices are integrated into an imaging sleeve that is insertable into an access port. Several example embodiments described herein provide imaging devices for performing imaging within an access port, where the imaging may be based one or more imaging modalities that may include, but are not limited to, magnetic resonance imaging, ultrasound, optical imaging such as hyperspectral imaging and optical coherence tomography, and electrical conductive measurements.
