摘要： In a system for laser welding work pieces along a collapsing weld interface, methods and apparatus include providing welding pads and/or stop projections on either or both of the work pieces to control the manner or amount of collapse. Preferably, the stop projections exist a separation distance from the weld interface while the welding pads exist at and form a portion of the weld interface. Buffers are taught between the weld interface and stop projection. The work pieces may comprise inkjet printhead lids and bodies. In another aspect, the invention teaches methods of laser welding inkjet printhead lids and bodies according to whether the inkjet printhead body embodies a mono or color ink body type and especially includes selective control of one or more laser light sources to illuminate the inkjet printhead lid in a specific pattern of light.

The invention includes coloring the inner coating of a laminated material that is used to create a package on a form, fill and seal packaging machine. The invention also discloses coloring the longitudinal strip of the package. The coloring of the inner coating allows an operator to distinguish between an acceptable seal and a defective seal since a delamination, which is acceptable, may appear to be a defective seal without the inner coating coloring. The colored longitudinal strip also allows one to distinguish between a defective longitudinal seal and a delamination of the longitudinal strip.

The thermoplastic forming material is roll pressed to provide an unfinished sheet, and a surface of the unfinished sheet is embossed for printing a predetermined drawing to provide an embossed sheet. The embossed sheet is cut to provide plural connecting sheets, and the partial overlapping of two adjacent connecting sheets is ultrasonically welded to provide a connected exterior. At least one groove is cut in the predetermined drawing surface of the exterior to provide a ball texture.
