Abstract: A water-based dual-cure coating comprising the following raw material components: 15-25 parts by weight of a water-based polycarbonate dispersion, 30-60 parts by weight of a water-based aliphatic polyurethane acrylate dispersion, 5-15 parts by weight of a UV reactive diluent, 1-4 parts by weight of a photoinitiator, 0.2-1 part by weight of an auxiliary agent, 3-8 parts by weight of a film coalescing aid, and 5-15 parts by weight of water. The coating is sprayed onto an automotive interior part and subsequently cured by baking at a temperature of 50-65° C. to form a film, proceeding UV curing; and proceeding thermal curing at temperature of 70-80° C.

Abstract: Provided is a composition comprising: A) an aliphatic polyurethane which comprises a reaction product of a first aliphatic polyisocyanate, a first polyol, and a thiol, optionally in the presence of a catalyst, and B) a urethane (meth)acrylate prepolymer, optionally a reactive diluent, and a photoinitiator, wherein the urethane (meth)acrylate prepolymer comprises a reaction product of a second aliphatic polyisocyanate, a second polyol and an acrylate, wherein the reactive diluent comprises a (meth)acrylate monomer, wherein the first aliphatic polyisocyanate and second aliphatic polyisocyanate may be identical or different, and wherein the first polyol and the second polyol may be identical or different. Also provided is a process comprising combining: A) a polyurethane which comprises a reaction product of a first aliphatic polyisocyanate, a first polyol, and a thiol, optionally in the presence of a catalyst, and B) a urethane (meth)acrylate prepolymer, a reactive diluent, and a photoinitiator, wherein the urethane (meth)acrylate prepolymer comprises a reaction product of a second aliphatic polyisocyanate, a second polyol and an acrylate, wherein the reactive diluent comprises a (meth)acrylate monomer, wherein the first aliphatic polyisocyanate and second aliphatic polyisocyanate may be identical or different, and wherein the first polyol and the second polyol may be identical or different. The compositions of the invention may find use in 3D printing applications.

The methods comprise applying shear force to a coating composition either before or during application of the coating composition to the substrate. The coating composition comprises a water-borne or solvent-borne film-forming resin and a catalyst associated with a carrier, wherein at least some of the catalyst can be released from the carrier upon application of the shear force. Also provided are coated articles prepared by the methods.
