A cathode substrate for an electron emission device includes a substrate, electron emission regions formed on the substrate, and one or more driving electrodes controlling the electrons emitted from the electron emission regions. A first insulating layer contacts the driving electrodes. A focusing electrode is provided in the cathode substrate to focus the electrons emitted from the electron emission regions. A second insulating layer is located between the driving electrodes and the focusing electrode. The materials used in the first and the second insulating layers have different etch rates.

The device for forming a thin layer includes a vessel that has a material for forming a thin layer, a multi-nozzle part that is on a substrate and that is connected to the vessel to receive the material for forming the thin layer, which multi-nozzle part includes a plurality of nozzles arranged in parallel at a distance from each other, and a pulse generator that applies a switching voltage to one of the substrate and the multi-nozzle part such that an instantaneous potential difference between at least one of the plurality of nozzles and the substrate is provided, and such that a discharge of the material for forming the thin layer is controlled.

Such a data compression method may include selecting a mode from among a plurality of modes for compressing current data, according to predetermined criteria, and calculating a difference between the current data and reference data, according to the selected mode, and compressing the current data, or truncating a part of the current data and compressing the current data. In addition, by extracting compressed values and a pattern of pixel values making up a 2×2 block in an image, from compressed data of the 2×2 block, and restoring pixel values using the compressed values and the pattern, it is possible to effectively restore binary images.

Disclosed are an auto exposure system and a method thereof. The auto exposure system may check whether an exposure target value is correct using brightness information of an input image. When the exposure target value is not proper, the auto exposure system may readjust the exposure target value through analyzing the brightness information of the input image. Also, the auto exposure system may correct exposure of the input image based on an exposure correction value according to the adjusted exposure target value, thereby adjusting the exposure of the input image to be proper. Also, exposure information of the input image may be easily obtained from a final exposure target value.
