Abstract:
A Method and a device for obtaining information based on an audio input are disclosed. The method is performed at an electronic device having one or more processors and memory. The method includes: while running a social networking application, sending a first audio input to a server hosting the social networking application, wherein the first audio input is captured in response to a triggering event; retrieving, from the server, a product information item associated with a product identified based on the first audio input, wherein the product information item is obtained by comparing at least one audio feature of the first audio input with signature audio features extracted from audio of TV or radio broadcast within a predetermined time span; and displaying the retrieved product information item to a user of the electronic device within the social networking application.
Abstract:
Radio stations broadcasting syndicated content for which the broadcast automation system is not provided with the artist and title of songs has a software application in an associated computer that receives and analyzes the audio stream to detect songs, and creates a digital fingerprint of the songs. Fingerprints are compared against an acoustic fingerprinting song database to obtain the artist and title of the song. When a match is discovered, the song artist and title are provided to encoding software that inserts the artist and title into the radio station's digital broadcast for receipt and display by compatible radio receivers, and are transmitted on the Internet to simulcast media players of listeners for presentation of the artist and title of songs as they are playing.
Abstract:
An example method includes determining if first media monitoring data provided by a first meter in a first location identifies a same media as second media monitoring data provided by a second meter in a second location. When the first and second media monitoring data identify the same media, the example includes determining whether spillover occurred based on a time difference between a first timestamp associated with the first media monitoring data and a second timestamp associated with the second media monitoring data. Based on an occurrence of the spillover, the first media monitoring data is stored as credited media monitoring data for the first location indicative of a media exposure to an audience at the first location, and the second media monitoring data is not stored as credited media monitoring data for the second location when the first timestamp is earlier than the second timestamp.
Abstract:
Small changes in a broadcast version of a base media item can be identified by performing a multi-level comparison of digital fingerprints. A fingerprint of a base media item is compared to a fingerprint of a media broadcast to determine whether a media item embedded in a broadcast is likely, to a first level of certainty, to be the base media item. A second, more stringent, match between the fingerprint of the base media item and loosely matched items can be used to identify potentially-altered versions of the base media item. Potentially-altered versions can be compared against each other, and resulting matches are flagged as altered base media items, which can be fingerprinted and tested against broadcast fingerprints in the same manner as the base media item.
Abstract:
Methods and systems for processing a sample of a media stream are provided. In one example, a method includes receiving a sample of a media stream rendered by a media rendering source, and for matching media recordings from which the sample was obtained, the method also includes receiving a signature file including a temporally mapped collection of features describing content of the matching media recordings. Each received signature file may be stored in memory. In addition, a signature stream may be received that includes features extracted from the media stream, and a number of matching features between the signature stream of the media stream and the signature file for at least one matching media recording can be determined. In one example, when substantially matching features between the signature stream of the media stream and the signature file for a matching media recording stop occurring, a discontinuity can be identified.
Abstract:
A system and method for aggregating emotions of users for a media program. A server stores reference audio signal fingerprints, each associated with a reference audio signal of the program. For each user, the server computer: receives a first audio signal fingerprint from a client device operated by a user, the first audio signal fingerprint associated with a first audio signal comprising ambient sound associated with the user and an audio signal of the program; searches the stored reference audio signal fingerprints to determine one that is related to the first audio signal fingerprint; determines an ambient sound signal by obtaining a difference between the stored reference audio signal fingerprint and the first audio signal fingerprint; and determines, using the ambient sound signal, an emotion of the user for a program segment. The server computer aggregates the emotions to determine a representative emotion of the users for the segment.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatus to adaptively gather audience information data are disclosed. The disclosed methods and apparatus monitor system factor(s) and select one or more sensors from a plurality of sensors positioned to gather audience measurement data based on the monitored factor(s). Thus, the disclosed methods and apparatus adapt to the conditions they face by selecting an amount and/or type of audience measurement data they gather.
Abstract:
A system and method for identifying multimedia content elements are presented. The method includes generating a signature for an unknown multimedia content element (MMCE), wherein the unknown MMCE is a portion of a multimedia content item; comparing a signature of the unknown MMCE to a signature cluster of at least one concept to determine whether each of the at least one concepts is proximate to the unknown MMCE; for each proximate concept, determining a probability that the at least one proximate concept identifies the unknown MMCE; and identifying the MMCE based on the determined probabilities of the at least one proximate concept.
Abstract:
Systems and methods for navigating hypermedia using multiple coordinated input/output device sets. Disclosed systems and methods allow a user and/or an author to control what resources are presented on which device sets (whether they are integrated or not), and provide for coordinating browsing activities to enable such a user interface to be employed across multiple independent systems. Disclosed systems and methods also support new and enriched aspects and applications of hypermedia browsing and related business activities.
Abstract:
Example methods, apparatus, and articles of manufacture to collect metering information associated with media presented by portable and computer media presentation devices are disclosed. A disclosed example apparatus includes a headset configured to be communicatively coupled to a media presentation device and a speaker coupled to the headset and configured to emit audio based on audio information received from the media presentation device. The example apparatus also includes a metering information generator coupled to the headset and configured to be communicatively coupled to the media presentation device to receive the audio information and generate metering information associated with the received audio information.
