Abstract:
A high-voltage pulse generator includes a storage capacitor which is connected to a voltage source via leads. One of the leads is connected to a reference potential via a node point. A switching device is connected in parallel with the storage capacitor on the voltage source side. An output inductance is connected to the one lead via a further node point arranged between the storage capacitor and the first node point. A diode lies between the node points.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a contact arrangement for a vacuum switch tube for low-voltage power switches. The aim of the invention is to reduce the contact force required to control short circuit currents. To this end, a twin-contact contact arrangement is used wherein every contact comprises a plurality of separate individual contacts having a defined spring rate. At least one of the contact bodies (4) is configured as a two-layer spiral contact with a lower layer consisting of a highly elastic material and an upper layer (7) consisting of a highly electroconductive material. A contact coat (9) consisting of a contact material is provided on the upper layer in the outer zone of every contact arm (10).
Abstract:
A new vacuum switching chamber is intended for power breakers in the low-voltage range and is distinguished by a compact form with a small physical height and a high switching capacity. Its enclosure includes a plate-like power current connection, a cylindrical wall part which surrounds flat spiral contacts, an annular insulator and a membrane disk with a centrally arranged power current supply bolt.
Abstract:
A finely-divided cerium metal/metalloid oxide mixture, containing pyrogenically produced metal/metalloid oxide and 0.001 to 95 wt. % cerium oxide, has a specific surface area between 10 and 400 m.sup.2 /g. The mixture is produced by mixing pyrogenically produced metal/metalloid oxide, having a specific surface area between 30 and 400 m.sup.2 /g, with a cerium compound decomposable to an oxide at elevated temperature, the cerium compound being thermally decomposed to the oxide. The cerium oxide-metal/metalloid oxide mixture can be used as a polishing agent or filler.
Abstract:
Flame-hydrolytically produced titanium dioxide mixed oxide having a BET surface of 10 to 150 m.sup.2 /g and 1 to 30% by weight aluminum oxide or 1 to 30% by weight silicon dioxide is produced by evaporating aluminum chloride or silicon tetrachloride, transferring the evaporated aluminum chloride or silicon tetrachloride, together with an inert gas, into the mixing chamber of a burner, mixing them with hydrogen, air and gaseous titanium tetrachloride, burning the resulting 4-component mixture in the reaction chamber of the burner, and separating the titanium dioxide mixed oxide from the gaseous reaction products.
Abstract:
The switch has a gas discharge chamber, in which two electrodes, namely a cathode (11) and an anode (12), are contained, which are spaced a distance (d) apart and are separted from each order by an electrically insulating wall (9a) made of ceramic material or of glass. The cathode (11) is formed with a hole (5). The electrodes (11, 12) are joined to the insulating wall (9a) by a tight metal-ceramic joint or fused joint. The gas discharge chamber is filled with an ionizable low-pressure gas under such a pressure p that the product p.times.d has such a value that a gas discharge between the electrodes (11, 12) will be fired in response to a voltage applied thereof which is disposed in that branch of the firing voltage-pressure characteristic in which the firing voltage descreases as the pressure rises.
Abstract:
For motor-driven chain saws, there is the danger that the chain saw will be kicked back if the reaction forces suddenly increase intensely in response to the forward thrust. This kickback effect and the danger of accident associated therewith are intended to be reduced by means of a special configuration of the saw chain. The saw chain has drive links which have an approximately triangular shape and which engage the tooth gaps of the nose sprocket with inclined flanks. The drive links are configured to be asymmetrical with respect to a partition line running between the two pivot axes of the link so that the forward flank angle is greater than the rearward flank angle referred to the partition line. The two flank angles together are greater than the opening angle of the V-shaped tooth gap of the nose sprocket. The saw chain can be configured as a low-profile chain with the spacing between the pivot axes of the cutting link being at least 10% greater than the spacing of the cutting edge to the plane containing the connecting line between the two pivot axes of the cutting link. Furthermore, the depth limiter can have an area in its upper region which is at least 4 mm.sup.2.
Abstract:
With motor-driven chain saws, there is the danger that the chain saw will be thrown upwardly and rearwardly when it is applied to wood by the user with a forward thrust. Serious injuries can then occur. The invention is directed to a motor-driven chain saw which is so configured that the cutting forces are automatically reduced in response to the occurrence of excessive reaction forces so that the reaction force is immediately reduced to a tolerable amount thereby eliminating the kickback effect. The drive links engaging the nose sprocket of the guide bar are so dimensioned that they can further pivot in the tooth gaps of the nose sprocket out of their normal position and, in this way, take the cutting links with them in such a manner that the free angle of the cutting teeth is reduced. The drive links are latched in the pivoted-in position on the nose sprocket in order to assure that the cutting links will retain the position with the reduced free angle over the entire turnaround region of the guide bar. For this purpose, latches are provided on the drive links and/or on the nose sprocket.
Abstract:
A polylaurolactam mold is being produced by that a laurolactam melting at first is being mixed with a catalyst and the mixture afterwards being compounded with an activator and polymerized, whereby the polymerizing material is being cast to threads or cords and the reduced material is being injection molded at temperatures of 430.degree. F. to 490.degree. F. and at pressures of 50.10.sup.5 to 100.10.sup.5 Pa, whereby, according to the invention, before the molding 0.1 to 5 wt. % silicon fat is added to the granules. The then resulting molded products, especially protective helmets and protective plates, are distinguished by superior physical properties.
Abstract:
In order to manufacture molded bodies by pressing finely divided material with a binder while the binder sets, such as to avoid problems caused because of contact of the binder or vapors therefrom with oxygen, the pressing and setting is carried out in a gas atmosphere different from air.
