Abstract:
Masking tapes that changes color when the tape is rubbed down or dispensed onto an adherend and methods of making such tapes are disclosed herein. The tape includes a backing, a layer of adhesive on the bottom surface of the backing, and a release structure on the top surface of the backing that includes a pressure-chromic indicator and a release layer. The pressure-chromic indicator is characterized in that it is not activated by the pressure applied during the manufacturing process, but is activated by the pressure applied when the tape is rubbed or dispensed onto an adherend.
Abstract:
A composition for a polyimide resin, comprising a polyamic acid and a perylene black pigment having an isoindole skeleton, wherein a content of the perylene black pigment is 1 to 10% by mass based on 100% by mass of a weight of a solid content of the polyamic acid.
Abstract:
The invention provides composite materials comprising a shape change element and an optical change element, which elements undergo a change in response to an applied stimulus. Also provided are objects that include the subject shape changing materials, as well as methods of making and using the same.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a combination of fluorescence conversion dyes in plastics mouldings made of polymethyl (meth)acrylate, where these are used to convert natural insolation into light that can be used by the solar cells. The plastics mouldings are polymerized by the casting process
Abstract:
The present invention relates to novel formulations comprising an organic semiconductor (OSC) and one or more organic solvents. The formulation comprises a dimethyl anisole solvent. Furthermore, the present invention describes the use of these formulations as inks for the preparation of organic electronic (OE) devices, especially organic photovoltaic (OPV) cells and OLED devices, to methods for preparing OE devices using the novel formulations, and to OE devices, OLED devices and OPV cells prepared from such methods and formulations.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a backside protective film (1) for a solar cell, which has a first resin layer (11) and a second resin layer (12) disposed on one surface side of the first resin layer (11). The first resin layer contains a rubber containing reinforced aromatic vinyl-based resin having a maximum glass transition temperature of 90-120° C. and an infrared transmissible coloring agent, and has a thickness of 10-400 μm. The second resin layer includes a saturated polyester resin and a white-based coloring agent, and has a thickness of 10-400 μm. The second resin layer has a dimension change ratio between before and after the film is left to stand still at a temperature of 135° C. for 30 minutes of ±0.5% or less.
Abstract:
The invention relates in one aspect to a post-formulation concentrated nanocomposite dispersion containing an invisible marker dye. The dispersion typically includes a silicate filler and a matrix polymer dispersed in an aqueous medium as well. The dispersions form optically transparent barrier films wherein the dye is effective to indicate film thickness on a substrate. Specific embodiments of this invention include a nanocomposite coating formulation designed to provide transparent high barrier coatings at thicknesses from 1 to 10 microns that include a near infrared (NIR) or infrared (IR) dye that enables rapid measurement of coating thickness and uniformity. The preferred dye imparts no observable color or appearance change, and thus can also function as an identifier for the coating.
Abstract:
