摘要： The application discloses a transparent, biaxially oriented polyester film having a base layer at least 80% by weight of which is composed of a thermoplastic polyester, and having at least one outer layer, wherein the outer layer is composed of a polymer, or of a mixture of polymers, which comprises at least 40% by weight of ethylene 2,6-naphthalate units and up to 40% by weight of ethylene terephthalate units and/or units from cycloaliphatic or aromatic diols and/or dicarboxylic acids, with the proviso that the Tg2 value of the polyester film is above the Tg2 value of the base layer but below the Tg2 value of the outer layer, and at least one film surface has a surface tension of from 35 to 65 mN/m and/or has been provided with a functional coating of thickness from 5 to 100 nm. The film has low atmospheric oxygen transmission. It is particularly suitable for packaging uses, specifically for packaging foods and other consumable items, and for laminating, metallizing and printing.

The pixel pattern is formed of pixels of three primary colors consisting of red, green and blue or pixels of three primary colors consisting of yellow, magenta and cyan. Also disclosed are inks, color filters, and image displays using the color filters.

摘要： Electron beam radiation curing of inks on game balls, golf balls and the like is disclosed. Production inks, logo inks and methods for forming production prints and logos on golf balls, game balls and the like are disclosed. To form an electron beam radiation curable water-insoluble production ink, at least an adhesion promoting component is added to an ink base. The adhesion promoting component is selected from the group consisting of a carboxylic acid functional monomer, a carboxylic acid functional oligomer, an ester functional monomer, an ester functional oligomer and mixtures thereof, the adhesion promoting component having at least one adhesion promoting functional moiety comprising at least about 2 moles of a carbonyl functionality per mole of the adhesion promoting component and being sufficient to maintain adhesion of the production ink of at least about 75% of the inked surface to the topcoat and to the surface of the game ball or the golf ball after electron beam radiation curing and after coating the production ink with the topcoat. To form an electron beam radiation curable water-insoluble logo ink, at least a toughening agent is added to an ink base. The toughening agent is sufficient to maintain adhesion of the logo ink to the topcoat of at least about 75% of the inked surface after electron beam radiation curing.

摘要： A process for thermal transfer printing on plastic films incorporating a coating composition is provided. The process includes providing plastic film having a coating composition including a binder of a polymer and/or copoylmer of carboxylic acid containing vinylic unsaturation, at least one finely divided particulate filler, and a surface active agent. A thermographic element such as a ribbon which includes a dye layer is then heated in the form of an image to be printed onto the plastic film, with the heating causing the dye layer to melt in the form of the image. The plastic film coated with the coating composition is contacted with the thermographic ribbon, and the dye layer is transferred from the ribbon to the plastic film. Such thermal transfer printing on coated plastic films provides for a multitude of uses such as plastic labels for outdoor use.
