Abstract: Combination therapies including a Apurinic/Apyrimidinic Endonuclease/reduction-oxidation (redox) Factor-1 (APE1/Ref-1) inhibitor specific to inhibit the redox function of APE1/Ref-1 are disclosed herein. The Combination therapies can be used for treating various cancers, as well as other angiogenesis-mediated diseases (e.g., retinal diseases, cardiovascular diseases).

Abstract: Various aspects and embodiments disclosed herein relate generally to the modelling, treatment, reduction of resistance to the treatment, prevention, and/or diagnosis of diseases characterized by the formation of cancers. Embodiments include methods of treating cancer, comprising the steps of: providing a patient diagnosed with cancer with a therapeutic regime that includes at least one therapeutically effective dose of at least one agent that reduces the activity of at least one DNA damage/repair pathway. Other embodiments include methods of treating cancer, comprising the steps of: treating a patient diagnosed with cancer with a combination of therapeutic agents that includes at least one therapeutically effective anti-cancer agent and at least one compound that reduces the activity of at least one DNA damage/repair pathway. Yet other embodiments include methods of reducing resistance to a genotoxic therapeutic, comprising the steps of: treating a patient at least one therapeutically effective dose of at least one agent that reduces at least one DNA damage/repair pathway.

Abstract: Provided herein are synthetic, three-dimensional (3D) bioprinted tissue constructs comprising porcine cells and methods of producing and using the same. The synthetic 3D bioprinted tissue constructs are fabricated by bioprinting spheroids comprising porcine cells, including genetically engineered cells, on a microneedle mold and fusing the spheroids to form an engineered tissue construct. Also provided are methods of using scaffold-free 3D bioprinted tissue constructs for applications related to drug screening and toxicity screening.

Abstract: Disclosed are novel methods for the therapeutic treatment of cancer and angiogenesis. The enzyme Ape1/Ref-1, via its redox function, enhances the DNA binding activity of transcription factors that are associated with the progression of cancer. The present disclosure describes the use of agents to selectively inhibit the redox function of Ape1/Ref-1 and thereby reduce tumor cell growth, survival, migration and metastasis. In addition, Ape1/Ref-1 inhibitory activity is shown to augment the therapeutic effects of other therapeutics and protect normal cells against toxicity. Further, Ape1/Ref-1 inhibition is shown to decrease angiogenesis, for use in the treatment of cancer as well other pathologic conditions of which altered angiogenesis is a component.

The at least one processor (104) is configured to generate at least one unified frame file (110) based on motion image data (204), depth map data (206) corresponding to the motion image data, and region of interest data (200). Further, at least one corrected image file derived from the medical image file (102) is generated by performing the motion correction based on the at least one unified frame file (110) using the processor (104). Subsequently, the at least one corrected image file is outputted for display to one or more display devices (122).
