Abstract:
In one aspect, a self-lubricating component is provided for a pharmaceutical packaging assembly. The self-lubricating component comprises a polymer composition and an effective amount of a lubricating additive such as, for example, boron nitride. In another aspect, a pharmaceutical packaging assembly may be provided having a surface thereof coated with a lubricating composition comprising boron nitride. The pharmaceutical packaging composition may be, for example, a pre-filled syringe comprising a body (barrel) and a plunger assembly.
Abstract:
Compositions are provided which comprises an active hydrogen-containing resin, a flexibilizer and at least one curing agent. The cured compositions possess enhanced flexibility while maintaining hardness, and are highly suitable for applications such as coatings, adhesives, sealants, gaskets, industrial rubber goods, and the like.
Abstract:
The present technology provides an electrical insulating material comprising a plurality of insulating dielectric layers and a thermally conductive layer disposed between adjacent dielectric layers, the thermally conductive layer comprising a thermally conductive filler. Additionally, the present technology also provides a method of manufacturing the electrical insulating material. The present technology also provides an electrically conductive apparatus comprising an electrically conductive material and an electrical insulating material disposed about the conductive material, the electrical insulating material comprising a first dielectric layer, a second dielectric layer overlying the first dielectric layer, and a thermally conductive layer disposed between the first and second dielectric layers, the thermally conductive layer comprising a thermally conductive filler, e.g., born nitride.

Abstract:
A method of forming and filling a pouch, comprises forming opposing walls of a film; sealing the opposing walls of film together to form at least one pouch; filling an interior section of the at least one pouch through an opening in an upper portion of the at least one pouch with a flowable material; forming a top sealed expressing-shaped region to close the opening in the at least one pouch; and cradling the pouch with a foldable flat that is more rigid than the pouch that can be folded or rolled to compress the pouch to express the flowable material through the expressing shaped region.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a crosslinked polyacrylate salt, which has been neutralized by two types of amines: (1) amine groups attached to the polymer backbone of an aminosilicone and (2) water soluble organic amines. The compositions of the present invention can readily swell in water, displaying enhanced thickening, emulsifying, dispersing and producing film with water resistance compared to acrylate based thickener alone. The compositions can be used to formulate a wide variety of ingredients, such as, for example, fatty substances, humectants, solid particles, silicones, organic or inorganic sunscreens, without the need of further neutralizing agents, dispersants or emulsifiers.
Abstract:
A batch or continuous process for preparing silylated polymers having low color and color stability comprising silylating a prepolymer having reactive functional groups with a silylating agent and optionally quenching the silylated polymer, where a stabilizer package containing at least one phosphite stabilizing agent is used.
Abstract:
A high silica glass composition comprising about 92 to about 99.9999 wt. % SiO2 and from about 0.0001 to about 8 wt. % of at least one dopant selected from Al2O3, CeO2, TiO2, La2O3, Y2O3, Nd2O3, other rare earth oxides, and mixtures of two or more thereof. The glass composition has a working point temperature ranging from 600 to 2,000° C. These compositions exhibit stability similar to pure fused quartz, but have a moderate working temperature to enable cost effective fabrication of pharmaceutical packages. The glass is particularly useful as a packaging material for pharmaceutical applications, such as, for example pre-filled syringes, ampoules and vials.
