A computer implemented method provides efficient monitoring and analysis of a program's memory objects in the operation stage. The invention can visualize and analyze a monitored program's data status with improved semantic information without requiring source code at runtime. The invention can provide higher quality of system management, performance debugging, and root-cause error analysis of enterprise software in the production stage.

A Wavelength Division Multiplexed Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access Passive Optical Network (WDM-OFDMA-PON) includes a passive last-mile optical split terminated by optical network units (ONUs) with OFDMA transceivers; a standard single mode fiber (SSMF) link; a central office optical line terminal (CO-OLT) coupled to SSMF link and the passive last-mile optical split, wherein the CO-OLT comprises an OFDMA transceiver, burst-mode-free operation, inline optical dispersion compensation free operation, and WDM-enabled operation.
Abstract:
The inventive 2-step-optimization procedure that addresses the generalized routing and wavelength assignment problem with variable number of combined 1+1 dedicated and shared connections for the first time. The proposed procedure results a solution in time that is polynomial of the input size. Thus, the time complexity of the 2-step-optimization procedure is significantly less than that of existing methods.

There are provided source-to-source transformation methods for a multi-dimensional array and/or a multi-level pointer for a computer program. A method includes minimizing a number of holes for variable length elements for a given dimension of the array and/or pointer using at least two stride values included in stride buckets. The minimizing step includes modifying memory allocation sites, for the array and/or pointer, to allocate memory based on the stride values. The minimizing step further includes modifying a multi-dimensional memory access, for accessing the array and/or pointer, into a single dimensional memory access using the stride values. The minimizing step also includes inserting offload pragma for a data transfer of the array and/or pointer prior as at least one of a single-dimensional array and a single-level pointer. The data transfer is from a central processing unit to a coprocessor over peripheral component interconnect express.

A fractional frequency reuse method for assigning physical resource units of a contiguous frequency band to sectors of cells is disclosed. Each cell includes at least one base station, for transmission of data to users in the sectors The method comprises, for each cell, segmenting the frequency band such that each separate segment includes a first contiguous portion of physical resource units dedicated to all sectors of the cell in vicinities of the center of the cell and a second contiguous portion of physical resource units dedicated for use in only one of the sectors in the cell in an outer area of the cell, assigning each cell with a physical resource unit configuration such that the second contiguous portion of physical resource units of a sector of a given cell partially overlaps with the first contiguous portion of physical resource units in a segment including the second contiguous portion dedicated to the same sector of a cell neighboring the given cell, and transmitting the data to the users in the sectors in accordance with the assigned physical resource unit configurations. A method for phase noise mitigation for a coherent receiver in either an OFDM or single carrier based transmission system including applying a frequency offset and coarse phase noise compensation based on a radio frequency RF tone or using a phase lock loop PLL m-th power procedure, responsive to a signal from a digital signal processed transmission with an added pilots signal over an optical system, applying fine phase noise compensation based on comparison of the pilots signal in a time domain, removing the pilots, and demodulating the remaining pilotless signal.

The method comprises receiving, from a user equipment, rank indication (RI), a first precoding matrix indicator (PMI), and a second PMI (codebook index i2), wherein values 0-15 are assigned to the second PMI IPMI2 for RI=1 and values 0-3 are assigned to the second PMI IPMI2 for each of RI=2, RI=3, and RI=4, and wherein codebook index i2 comprises IPMI2 for RI=1. There is provided a method in a wavelength convertible flexible optical wavelength-division multiplexing (WC-FWDM) network. The network has a plurality of optical nodes interconnected by a plurality of optical fibers. The network is for providing an overall spectrum divisible into a set of consecutive wavelength slots. At least one optical node has at least one wavelength converter for wavelength conversion. The method includes determining a channel route through the network commencing at a source node and ceasing at a destination node. The determined channel route is selectively tunable responsive to selected ones of a plurality of routing methods. The routing methods are so selected responsive to a routing policy having one or more objectives of minimization of channel blocking, minimization of a number of wavelength converters used in the network, and minimization of physical distance traversed by a channel, and minimization of operating wavelengths of a channel.
Abstract:
The invention efficiently provides user code information for kernel level tracing approaches. It applies an advanced variation of stack walking called multi-mode stack walking to the entire system level and generates the unified trace where the user code and kernel events are integrated. The invention uses runtime stack information and internal kernel data structures. Therefore, source code for user level code and libraries are not required for inspection. The invention introduces the mechanism to narrow down the monitoring focus to specific application software and improve monitoring performance.

A computer implemented method of workload scheduling under two different types of Service Level Agreements (SLAs), namely soft and hard SLA which employ both a deadline- and cost-aware scheduler called iCBS-DH. The scheduler is evaluated against deadline and cost performance of various scheduling policies under a large range of SLA cost function and deadline types.
