Abstract:
A system for a wind turbine generator comprising: a set of voltage limiting elements, and a controller configured to bypass the voltage limiting elements when a line voltage is below a predetermined threshold, and configured to connect each voltage limiting element in series between a grid side converter and a turbine transformer of the wind turbine generator, and to determine a current control reference signal for controlling the grid side converter (to generate a determined current) when the line voltage is above the predetermined threshold.
Abstract:
A clock signal generator provides a gated clock signal GCLK to trigger operation of dual-edge triggered circuits. A first detector generates, while a clock gating signal /EN is asserted, a first detector output signal that is asserted or de-asserted as a function of disjunction or conjunction respectively of the values that an input clock signal CLK and the gated clock signal GCLK had when the clock gating signal /EN transitioned. A second detector generates, while the clock gating signal /EN is de-asserted, as the value of the gated clock signal GCLK, the value CLK or its complement /CLK as a function of the first detector output signal. When the clock gating signal /EN is asserted, the second detector maintains the value that the gated clock signal GCLK had when the clock gating signal /EN transitioned from de-asserted to asserted.
Abstract:
Methods and systems for providing real-time monitoring of a metal surface are provided herein. The system includes a fiber-optic cable disposed alongside a length of a wall that includes the metal surface. A laser source is attached to the fiber-optic cable to transmit light through the fiber-optic cable. An acoustic source is configured to generate acoustic signals in the metal surface, wherein the acoustic signals interact with the fiber-optic cable and influence characteristics of the light. A receiver is attached to the fiber-optic cable to detect the light. The system also includes a signal processing unit configured to determine a location of a change in the metal surface based on changes in the characteristics of the light.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a Fluid Catalytic Cracking (FCC) additive preparation process and composition, which has high efficiency in the production of light olefins C2, C3 and C4 hydrocarbons, specifically propylene. The present invention discloses the stabilization of medium pore zeolite specifically ZSM-5 using optimum phosphate salts at a pH in the range 7-9 with synergetic combination of silica rich binder to produce FCC additive having excellent stability under severe hydrothermal conditions.
Abstract:
A low power inverter circuit includes first and second transistors that receive an input signal at their gate terminals. The first and second transistors are connected by way of their source terminals to third and fourth transistors, respectively. The third and fourth transistors are connected in parallel with fifth and sixth transistors, respectively. The third and fourth transistors are continuously switched on, and the fifth and sixth transistors are controlled in such a way to reduce short circuit current flowing through the first and second transistors when the input signal transitions from one state to another.
Abstract:
A method of operating a wind turbine is disclosed, the wind turbine comprising a power generator, a machine-side converter connected to the power generator, a line-side converter connected to a power grid through associated power components, and a DC-link connected between the machine-side converter and the line-side converter. The method includes monitoring the power grid for overvoltage events, and upon detecting an overvoltage event: (1) disabling active operation of the machine-side converter and the line-side converter, (2) enabling an AC load dump connected between the machine side converter and the power generator in order to dissipate power output from the power generator, (3) waiting for a waiting period, and (4) enabling active operation of the line-side converter and the machine converter when the overvoltage event ends within the waiting period.
Abstract:
A computer system records a plurality of cases. Each case is used with a software system. The version of the software system is the same for each case. Each case includes a set of input data. Each case includes an identification of a parent case from which input data in the case was copied unless the case is an original case. The identification of the parent case creates a parent/child relationship between the case and the parent case. The computer system creates a hierarchy of the parent/child relationships among the plurality of cases. The computer system displays a subset of the plurality of cases in response to a search of the plurality of cases. A smaller subset of the plurality of cases is selected as a chosen model for an environment in which an activity is to be performed.

An adder circuit includes first through fourth two-bit adder modules, and first through third result mux blocks for receiving and adding first and second binary values to generate a final sum. A multiplier circuit that multiplies a multiplier and a multiplicand includes a multiplexer, an encoder connected to the multiplexer, a shifter connected to the encoder, and an accumulator connected to the encoder for receiving the multiplier and multiplicand and generating a multiplication product.
Abstract:
A variable speed wind turbine is provided. The variable speed wind turbine comprises a generator, a power converter for converting at least a portion of electrical power generated by the generator, the power converter comprising a generator-side converter, a grid-side converter and a DC (direct current) link therebetween, a power dissipating unit operatively coupled to the DC-link, and a controller. The controller is adapted to receive a request to reduce power output from the wind turbine, determine a feed forward power signal based on a reference generator power and a desired turbine power, and operate the power dissipating unit based on the feed forward power signal.
