Abstract:
The present invention relates to an isolated bacterium from the genus Pseudoalteromonas for its use as a probiotic, the use of said strain as a preservative, cyclolipopeptides which may be obtained from this bacterium, a composition comprising at least such a cyclolipopeptide, as well as to their uses.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a bioreactor comprising a tank containing a culture medium in which a cell culture composed of algae cells is dispersed. The cell culture of algae has a concentration greater than 0.1 g/L in the culture medium, and each algal cell has a minimum absorption in a specific range of wavelengths of light. The bioreactor comprises a light source that is capable of emitting incident light in the direction of the tank, 60% of the photons of the incident light having a wavelength which is included in said specific range of wavelengths of light. The invention also relates to the use of the bioreactor for the production of biomass.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a genetically engineered algae strain in which the expression of the CGI-58 gene or homologous gene thereof is silenced. The present invention further relates to a method of triacylglycerol accumulation using said genetically engineered diatom and/or diatom strain.
Abstract:
Method for obtaining an super-resolution image (22) of an object (5), based upon an optical microscope (21) including a support plate (6) for bearing the object, an illumination source (1) for focusing an illumination beam (14) onto a target region of the support plate, a digital camera (9) including a matrix of sensors, comprising: capturing, by the digital camera, a first image of the target region; extracting, from the first image, a first block of pixel values provided by a sub-matrix (B0) of the matrix of sensors; displacing, by a sub-diffraction limited distance, the support plate by the displacement block along a displacement axis; capturing, by the digital camera, a second image of the target region; extracting, from the second image, a second block of pixel values provided by the sub-matrix (B0) of the matrix of sensors; storing said first and second blocks of pixel values as a first and second blocks of pixel values to be placed right next each other in the super-resolution image along the image axis (X, Y) corresponding to the displacement axis.
Abstract:
A composition of monoanhydro-hexitol monoalkyl ether isomers bearing an alkyl ether radical (OR) at C-3, C-5 or C-6 of the monoanhydro-hexitol, in which the alkyl group (R) is a linear or branched, cyclic or noncyclic hydrocarbon-based group comprising between 4 to 18 carbon atoms, the process for obtaining such a composition and the use thereof as a nonionic surfactant, emulsifier, lubricant, antimicrobial agent or dispersant.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a process for in vitro spermatogenesis from male germinal tissue comprising conducting maturation of testicular tissue comprising germ cells in a bioreactor which is made of a biomaterial and comprises at least one cavity wherein the germinal tissue is placed, and recovering elongated spermatids and/or spermatozoa.
Abstract:
A method for depolymerization of lignin includes oxidizing non-phenolic lignin by putting into presence, in at least one solvent, non-phenolic lignin, laccase, redox mediator and a source of oxygen, whereby a mixture including oxidized non-phenolic lignin is obtained, and further includes depolymerization of the oxidized non-phenolic lignin thereby obtained, by adding an oxidizer. The non-phenolic lignin is obtained from phenolic lignin by functionalization of phenol functions of the phenolic lignin.
Abstract:
Long-chain alkyl cyclic acetals made from sugars are obtainable by a method that comprises the steps consisting of: dehydrating a hexitol in a monoanhydrohexitol substrate; reacting the monoanhydrohexitol substrate obtained with an alkyl aldehyde reagent containing 5 to 18 carbon atoms, by means of an acetalization reaction with a substrate/reagent ratio of between 5:1 and 1:1, or with a derivative of an alkyl aldehyde reagent containing 5 to 18 carbon atoms, by means of a transacetalization reaction with a substrate/reagent ratio of between 1:1 and 1:3, in the presence of acid catalyst and in an environment that is free of solvent or that consists of non-aqueous polar solvent; collecting the long-chain alkyl acetal of hexitan from the mixture obtained.
Abstract:
A method for preparing at least one ester of levulinic acid from a biomass includes steps of impregnating the biomass by an organic or inorganic acid, and putting the acidified biomass in contact with a supercritical fluid including at least one olefin.
