Abstract:
A word game and method of playing the word game comprising providing a main word or phrase (“Theme Word”), and a group of existing words (“Puzzle Words”), wherein each letter from the Theme Word is used once to form a different word (“Solved Word”) when added to a Puzzle Word. In one example form of the game, multiple letters from the Theme Word may be added to a single Puzzle Word to form a single Solved Word. The letters from the Theme Word may be added anywhere to the Puzzle Word in order to form a new Solved Word. In one example form, the order of the letters in Puzzle Word may not be changed. In another example form of the game, the letter from the Theme Word may not be added to the end of the Puzzle Word. The game will be considered solved when all of the letters of the Theme Word have been successfully combined once with a Puzzle Word such that each letter has been used with a Puzzle Word to form a Solved Word.
Abstract:
Provided are porous, biocompatible implant bodies and materials. These materials suitably comprise a population of randomly arranged thermoplastic constituents, with at least some of the constituents being bonded to one another The implant bodies are capable of being manipulated at room temperature from a first shape to a second shape, and of maintaining the second shape at about internal body temperature. Also provided are related methods of fabricating such implants and installing the implants into a subject.
Abstract:
Systems and methods for increasing bandwidth capability of an envelope elimination and restoration (EER) transmitter. A frequency response of a power supply modulator of the transmitter is approximated. An inverse response is applied to the envelope signal prior to digital-to-analog conversion (DAC) and before the signal reaches the power supply modulator to pre-emphasize the signal thereby counteracting distorting affects of the modulator. The filter is implemented using any of a variety of different digital techniques including programmable logic, DSP, etc.
Abstract:
An intervertebral disc prosthesis is provided. The prosthesis includes a first and second plate containing modular anchors that are moveable from a radially un-extended position in a non-deployed configuration to a radially extended position in a deployed configuration. A method of replacing a natural intervertebral disc with a prosthetic disc is also provided.
Abstract:
In one embodiment, a computer-implemented method of managing a virtual local area network (VLAN) domain associated with a network is provided. In this embodiment, the method comprises: defining a VLAN domain comprising a list of a plurality of connectively coupled ports of the network associated with the VLAN domain; and assigning at least one VLAN associated with the plurality of connectively coupled ports. In another embodiment, a system for managing virtual local area networks (VLANs) in a network is provided. In this embodiment, the system comprises a network provisioning module for defining a VLAN domain comprising a list of a plurality of connectively coupled ports of the network associated with the VLAN domain and assigning at least one VLAN associated with the plurality of connectively coupled ports. The system further comprises a a network monitoring system operable to gather actual network element configuration data from a plurality of network elements associated with one or more VLAN domains, wherein the actual network element configuration data identifies one or more VLANs that at least some of the plurality of network elements are actually allocated to; and a VLAN services module operable to correlate the actual network element configuration data with administrative VLAN data. The administrative VLAN data identifies one or more VLANs recognized by a business process. In one particular embodiment, the system is further operable to determine one or more VLANs that are not commonly identified in both the actual network element configuration data and the administrative VLAN data.
Abstract:
The present invention relates in general to implantable flexible bone composites, and method for preparing the same. The flexible bone composite includes at least one polymeric layer and at least one calcium-containing layer. The polymeric layer can be a polymeric layer including a synthetic polymer. The calcium-containing layer can include a calcium compound such as β-Ca3(PO4)2. The flexible bone composites of the invention are useful as bone void fillers and have improved handling characteristics.

Abstract:
A bituminous water vapor retarder is disclosed of the type which can be used under concrete slabs in contact with soil or granular fill. The vapor barrier is a multi-ply weather coated permanently bonded semi-flexible bituminous core board composed of the homogeneous high melt point bituminous material in combination with an exclusive core suspended midpoint in the board. This core is sealed under heat and pressure between liners of asphalt and impregnated felt and a glass mat liner. An asphalt weather coat is applied to the glass mat liner and covered with a polyethylene anti-stick sheet.
