摘要: A computer-implemented method for creating a program for a multi-processor system comprising a plurality of interspersed processors and memories. A user may specify or create source code using a programming language. The source code specifies a plurality of tasks and communication of data among the plurality of tasks. However, the source code may not (and preferably is not required to) 1) explicitly specify which physical processor will execute each task and 2) explicitly specify which communication mechanism to use among the plurality of tasks. The method then creates machine language instructions based on the source code, wherein the machine language instructions are designed to execute on the plurality of processors. Creation of the machine language instructions comprises assigning tasks for execution on respective processors and selecting communication mechanisms between the processors based on location of the respective processors and required data communication to satisfy system requirements.

摘要: Oftentimes, computer files, information packets, and the like share identical data portions that cause duplicate storing. The files and/or packets can be logically divided and checks can be performed to determine if there are shared portions. If shared portions exist, then as opposed to making a duplicate copy of information, a pointer can be produced that identifies where the portion is saved. In addition, pointers can be used in compression of information such that a compressed file can identify an original copy—the original copy can be used to decompress the information.

摘要: A system, method, and computer-readable medium that facilitate efficient use of cache memory in a massively parallel processing system are provided. A residency time of a data block to be stored in cache memory or a disk drive is estimated. A metric is calculated for the data block as a function of the residency time. The metric may further be calculated as a function of the data block size. One or more data blocks stored in cache memory are evaluated by comparing a respective metric of the one or more data blocks with the metric of the data block to be stored. A determination is then made to either store the data block on the disk drive or flush the one or more data blocks from the cache memory and store the data block in the cache memory. In this manner, the cache memory may be more efficiently utilized by storing smaller data blocks with lesser residency times by flushing larger data blocks with significant residency times from the cache memory. The disclosed cache management mechanisms are effective for many workloads and are adaptable to various database usage scenarios without requiring detailed studies of the particular data demographics and workload.

摘要: A detector for calculating the distortion of an electromagnetic field produced by a buried current carrying conductor comprises three antennas B, M, T. Outputs of two pairs of antennas are compared and the depth of the buried conductor is calculated using two different methods. If there is a significant difference in the two calculated depths then it is deemed that the electromagnetic field produced by the buried current carrying conductor is significantly distorted by the material in which the conductor is buried.

摘要: A harness connector having a header assembly that includes a header housing that extends between a plug end and a mounting end. The header housing holds header contacts. Optionally, the header housing may be mounted to a printed circuit board at the mounting end with the header contacts being electrically connected to the printed circuit board. One or more plug assemblies are received in the plug end of the header housing along a plug axis. The plug assembly includes a plug housing holding receptacle terminals. The receptacle terminals extend along terminal axes parallel to the plug axis between mating ends and terminating ends. The mating ends are mated with corresponding header contacts. The terminating ends have insulation displacement contacts configured to receive, and be electrically connected to, corresponding wires. The wires extend from the insulation displacement contacts along wire axes that are generally perpendicular to the terminal axes.

摘要: A system and method to automatically provide a location estimate of a mobile station in communication with a mobile wireless network to an appropriate law enforcement agency in response to detecting an electronic surveillance event within a mobile wireless network. A surveillance location server extracts pertinent information from a surveillance event message and sends a request for a location estimate to network components that generate and return the location estimate. The surveillance location server forwards to the location estimate to an appropriate law enforcement agency.
