Abstract:
Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A user equipment (UE) may autonomously initiate a handover procedure and select a target base station for the handover procedure. The UE may measure a signal from the source base station or the target base station, or both, and the UE may determine whether specific criteria at both base stations are within a pre-configured range. If the criteria at both base stations are within the pre-configured range, the UE may identify the target base station as a potential candidate for a handover. Accordingly, when the UE determines that radio conditions with the source base station are deteriorating (or fall below a threshold), the UE may initiate a handover to the target base station autonomously and without specific direction from the source base station.
Abstract:
Aspects of the present disclosure describe receiving paging messages in wireless communications. A user equipment (UE) can receive one or more parameters for descrambling non-cell specific paging messages. The UE can receive, from one or multiple base stations, a non-cell specific paging message. The UE can descramble the non-cell specific paging message based at least in part on the one or more parameters.
Abstract:
An electroplating method for producing magnetic conducting materials, such as charging coils used in induction charging of electronic devices, comprising the following steps: constant tension releasing conducting material, such as cooper wire, the conducting material then undergo these process: alkaline washing then clean water washing, degreasing, acidic washing then clean water washing, continuous plating, clean water washing, drying, infrared measuring the diameter and retracting the conducting material. The method allows electroplating preparation of uniform and dense distribution of iron and nickel coating layer on the surface of conducting material, wherein, the thickness of the coating layer is 2˜10 μm. Since the conducting material is non-magnetic, but through the electroplating preparation, the entire charging coil is magnetized to become magnetic material, which when used during induction charging provides the coil with electro resistance that reducing high-frequency skin effect and improving electro induction.

Abstract:
The present disclosure relates to systems and methods for a two-dimensional discrete Fourier transform based codebook for elevation beamforming. A two-dimensional discrete Fourier transform based codebook is determined for elevation beamforming. The codebook supports single stream codewords and multistream codewords. The two-dimensional discrete Fourier transform based codebook is generated by stacking the columns of the matrix product of two discrete Fourier transform codebook matrices. The codebook size may be flexibly designed based on required beam resolution in azimuth and elevation. A best codebook index is selected from the generated two-dimensional discrete Fourier transform based codebook. The selected codebook index is provided in a channel state information report. The channel state information report is transmitted to a base station.
Abstract:
A system and method for uplink channel estimation for a software defined radio is disclosed. The method comprises dividing an allocated bandwidth for a received signal on the uplink channel into N segments. The uplink channel estimation is processed for each of the N segments as a separate process. The uplink channel estimation includes pre-processing each of the N segments of the received signal; Wiener filtering the pre-processed segments of the received signal in the frequency domain; and Wiener filtering each of the frequency filtered segments in the time domain to determine a channel estimate for each of the N segments for use in equalizing the received signal.
Abstract:
A system and methods for estimating a noise power level in an uplink signal for a virtual MIMO system is disclosed. The system comprises a demodulation reference signal (DMRS) module configured to obtain a DMRS receive symbol from the uplink signal and determine a DMRS sequence for a first UE in the virtual MIMO system. An autocorrelation module is configured to calculate an average autocorrelation value for the subcarriers in the uplink signal. A cross-correlation module is configured to calculate first and second cross-correlation values of the uplink signal RZ(l) for values of l selected such that the sum of the received power from the first UE and the second UE can be accurately estimated. A noise power level module is configured to determine the noise power level for the uplink signal using the average autocorrelation value and the first and second cross correlation values.

A method of removing an alumina layer around a main pole layer during perpendicular magnetic recording head fabrication is disclosed. The alumina etch sequence includes immersing a substrate in a series of aqueous solutions purged with an inert gas to remove oxygen thereby avoiding corrosion of the main pole. Initially, the substrate is soaked and heated in deionized (DI) water. Once heated, the substrate is immersed in an etching bath at about 80° C. and pH 10.5. Bath chemistry is preferably based on Na2CO3 and NaHCO3, and N2 purging improves etch uniformity and reduces residue. Thereafter, the substrate is rinsed in a second DI water bath between room temperature and 80° C., and finally subjected to a quick dump rinse before drying. Inert gas, preferably N2, may be introduced into the aqueous solutions through a purge board having a plurality of openings and positioned proximate to the bottom of a bath container.
