A PROCESS IS DISCLOSED FOR PREPARING A POLYMERIC LATEX FROM AN AQUEOUS EMULSION OF A SOLUTION OF A POLYMER WHEREIN THE EMULSION IS BROUGHT INTO CONTACT WITH A SOLID SUCH AS CURED AND CROSS-LINK 1,4,-CIS-POLYBUTADIENE IN A FORM WHICH PROVIDES A HIGH SURFACE/VOLUME RATIO SO THAT THE SOLVENT FOR THE POLYMER IS ADSORBED BY THE SOLID WHICH IS THEN REMOVED FROM THE RESULTING LATEX. THE PROCESS IS CARRIED OUT AT A TEMPERATURE WHICH IS BELOW THE BOILING POINT OF THE SOLVENT FOR THE POLYMER AND THE SOLID USED AS AN ADSORBENT IS COMPATIBLE WITH, BUT INSOLUBLE IN, THE SOLVENT FOR THE POLYMER AND IS INCOMPATIBLE WITH THAT POLYMER.

SYNTHETIC CRYSTALLINE ZEOLITES ARE PREAPRED BY TREATING NATURAL GLASSES, SUCH AS LIPARI PUMICE, AND SYNTHETIC GLASSES PREPARED BY MELTING A SUITABLE MIXTURE OF OXIDES OR SILICOALUMINATES WITH AN ALKALINE SOLUTION AT A TEMPERATURE WITHIN THE RANGE OF 50*C. TO 150*C. UNTIL THE CRYSTALLINE ZEOLITE FORMS. FAUJASITE IS PREPARED BY TREATING EACH OF PULVERIZED PUMICE AND A SYNTHETIC GLASS HAVING THE COMPOSITION 3NA2O.AL2O3.4SIO2 WITH A SODIUM HYDROXIDE SOLUTION AT AN ELEVATED TEMPERATURE.

There are provided novel triene hydrocarbons, having at least two conjugated double bonds, and being of the general formula IN WHICH A is a radical consisting of a ring containing an endomethylene group; B may be both a linear alkadiene radical and a substituted and unsubstituted alkene or cycloalkene radical; Ro may be hydrogen, an aryl or an alkyl radical, n is a number ranging from 0 to 3; and m is 0 or 1.
