Abstract: Apparatus and method for Immunohistochemistry, including a slide holder assembly fixture, a slide holder, a slide holder frame, and a slide holder frame assembly adapted to be placed in communication with a driving force to draw fluid through the slide holder. The slide holder may include an injection port that allows consistent fluid delivery and recovery, while minimizing the introduction of air bubbles. The slide holder may include a reservoir that allows for filling, soaking, rinsing, flushing, uniform antibody coverage of the tissue and reduces handling time, space, and errors, and one or more sample chambers. The slide orientation in the slide holder allows for visualization of label information and tissue to confirm adequate antibody coverage. A multi-port frame allows multiple assays to be carried out concurrently, and is removable from a vacuum manifold and allows for easy transport from the vacuum manifold to an incubator/refrigerator and back.

Abstract: A removal tool for sample well combs that is configured to aid in the extraction of a sample well comb from an electrophoresis gel. Abstract: A funnel-less filtration device that attaches directly to a storage container such as a cell culture media bottle. The device includes a filter collar containing one or more membranes, an inlet with a coupling device for attaching the filter device to a supply of liquid to be filtered, an outlet at a lower portion of the collar, a vacuum port in the collar below the membrane(s) and a filtered vent in the collar above the membrane(s). Optionally, the device may include a filtrate reservoir attached to the outlet, preferably by a threaded connection. Optionally, the upper opening to the filter collar is selectively and removably sealed with a lid until used. The lid is then removed the filter device inverted over a storage container such as cell culture media bottle and the two are attached via the upper opening of the filter collar. The assembly is then inverted so the supply container is above the filter device. Upon subjecting the sample in the bottle to a driving force such as vacuum, the sample flows through the filtration element, and into a filtrate reservoir below the outlet of the filter collar.

Abstract: In one embodiment, a removable pneumatic connector, comprises a body having a plurality of bores passing through, each bore surrounded by a sealing member on an inner surface of the body. A plurality of gas lines may be placed within a corresponding bore. A vacuum port is disposed on the inner surface of the body, and an outer seal on the inner surface of the body surrounds the sealing members and the vacuum port. A vacuum line may be placed within the vacuum port, and configured to deliver negative pressure to the vacuum port. A vacuum holding area is created in the volume between the outer seal and each of the sealing members when the inner surface of the body is placed against a substrate. When the vacuum line is activated, a vacuum is created within the vacuum holding area, creating a positive seal between the body and the substrate.

Abstract: An acrylamide gel formulation for use in electrophoresis, and a system and method for electrophoretic gel casting. In some embodiments, the system comprises a UV-Vis curing light source, and an acrylamide formulation that allows a resolving gel and a stacking gel to be photopolymerized in a single step. In some embodiments, the resolving solution formulation comprises acrylamide and bis-acrylamide, Bis-Tris buffering agent, and lithium phenyl-2, 4, 6-trimethylbenzoyl-phosphinate (LAP) as a water-soluble photoinitiator, which allows the solution to be photopolymerized using UV radiation within a certain wavelength. In some embodiments, a dilution buffer formulation comprises acrylamide and bis-acrylamide, Bis-Tris buffering agent, and lithium phenyl-2, 4, 6-trimethyl-benzoyl-phosphinate (LAP). The dilution buffer may be added to the resolving solution in a selected amount in order to modify the concentration of the acrylamide to a desired concentration.
