摘要: A power compensation apparatus for a renewable energy system includes a plurality of converter modules positioned between any two phases of a three-phase AC electrical grid, each converter module including a plurality of inverter circuits connected in series. Each inverter circuit includes an energy storage unit for providing a direct current (DC) voltage; a capacitor connected to the energy storage unit; and an H-bridge circuit converting the DC voltage into an alternating current (AC) voltage. The converter modules perform reactive power compensation and active power regulation on the electrical grid in a delta connection. A plurality of converter modules are respectively positioned between any two phases of the electrical grid in a delta connection, so as to keep the voltage of the electrical grid continuously stable when the voltage of the electrical grid fluctuates, and also compensate load current when system load is not balanced.

摘要: A programmable controller for switch-mode power converters that operates in a digital domain without reliance on operation software and the ability to vastly reduce or eliminate analog circuitry. The digital controller is re-programmable. In one embodiment, the substantially digital portion of the controller is a Field Programmable Gate Array that controls operation of the converter by generally converting an analog reference signal(s) (e.g. the voltage output) into the digital domain. The controller then can perform distributed arithmetic to generate a square wave signal capable of controlling at least a main switch of the converter. The present invention can, if desired, essentially eliminate analog controllers in power conversion systems such as switch-mode converters.

摘要: The subject invention pertains to materials and methods for treating oncological disorders. The subject invention also pertains to materials and methods for preventing or reducing the development by cancer cells of resistance to an anticancer therapy, such as chemotherapy, radiotherapy and/or immunotherapy. In one embodiment, a patient is treated with an agent that inhibits cholesterol synthesis or that prevents or reduces the increase in cholesterol synthesis observed in therapy-resistant cancer cells. In another embodiment, a patient is treated with an agent that increases the expression, activity, or amount of a Bim protein in a cell. In another embodiment, a patient is treated with an agent to inhibit or reduce cancer cell adhesion to extracellular matrices or stromal cells. In another embodiment, a patient is treated with an agent to inhibit expression of a gene of function of a protein of the FANC/BRCA pathway. In a further embodiment, a patient is treated with an agent to prevent or reduce the DNA crosslink repair function of a cell.

摘要: A carbon nano-tube based photoelectric device includes a substrate and a carbon nanotube (CNT) over the substrate. The CNT comprises a first end and a second end, wherein the CNT has a CNT work function. A high work-function electrode over the substrate is in electric contact with the first end of the CNT. The high work-function electrode has a first work function higher than the CNT work function. A low work-function electrode over the substrate is in electric contact with the second end of the CNT. The low work-function electrode has a second work function lower than the CNT work function. The CNT can form a conductive channel between the high work-function electrode and the low work-function electrode. The carbon nano-tube based photoelectric device also includes a dielectric material is in contact with a side surface of the CNT and a conductive material in contact with the dielectric material.
