摘要: A conformable orthopaedic casting tape made with a combination of an elastic fiber and a non-elastic fiber is disclosed. The casting tape is capable of stretching 40% to 200% in the length direction and has a power of between 40 and 175 grams per inch width at 30% elongation. The elastic fiber is a blend of a cured or partially cured polyolefin rubber and a polyolefin resin.

摘要: A photocurable device injection system for creating in situ polymerization via light or free-radical to enable fractured bone fixation. The system comprises a photosensitive polymeric resin sensitive to light, temperature, oxygen, enzymes, or a combination thereof. The photosensitive polymeric resin may be configured to cure at room temperature or physiological temperature with a light source. The photosensitive polymeric resin may be configured to depolymerize with ultrasonication, sonication, or a combination thereof. The system further comprises an implantable 3-dimensional biocompatible pouch comprising an optical light guide. The system further comprises one or more micro-sized ultrasonication probes configured to contact a three-dimensional pouch by one or more openings. The one or more probes may be configured to enable polymer outflow.

摘要: The present invention includes the composition and manufacturing of a product to treat various types of infections, and disease ailments. 摘要: An orthopedic splint system comprising self curing splinting system that is applied to an injured limb without use of water. The splint material is contained in tear resistant outer pouch and an inner protective sleeve where a water-laden gel is contained in a pouch situated in direct contact with the splint material. Said liquid pouch will be torn when a longitudinal tab, which is an integral part of the pouch, is pulled out releasing the water-laden gel which will come in contact with the splint system causing it to cure.

摘要: A device comprising a casing and having an initial configuration, an intermediate configuration, and a final configuration, wherein in the initial configuration the casing contains: a plurality of beads, a rupturable first container containing one or more isocyanates and a rupturable second container containing one or more polyols. In the final configuration the casing is substantially filled by a polyurethane in which the plurality of beads is embedded. In the intermediate configuration the device is transformed from the initial configuration to the final configuration by rupturing the first container and rupturing the second container so that the one or more isocyanates react with the one or more polyols in a reaction that forms the polyurethane. As the polyurethane is formed during the reaction the polyurethane surrounds the plurality of beads. The casing includes one or more vent tubes configured to allow gases formed by the reaction to escape the casing.

摘要: Orthopedic splinting materials and methods for stabilizing an injured limb or extremity of a human or animal comprising applying a foam to the limb or extremity and allowing the foam set to sufficient rigidity, which can be in less than 60 seconds. The foam, such as a Spray Polyurethane Foam, can be sprayed directly on the skin without producing an amount of heat release that is painful or uncomfortable on the skin. Also provided is a kit for stabilizing an injured limb or extremity comprising a dispenser comprising the present foam. Further provided is situ preparation and application of a compression bandage on an injured patient in an emergency or combat situation comprising applying the present foam. A spine board and a method for making the same comprising applying the present foam to the patient's back, then contacting the foam with a board or flat surface before the foam sets.
