Abstract: A flow-through cavitation device having an elongated housing with an inlet and an outlet. An inner annular body and an outer annular body are concentrically and nestingly disposed in the elongated housing. The outer annular body is fixed relative to the housing and the inner annular body is rotatable about a longitudinal axis of the housing. Each annular body has a plurality of channels that pass therethrough. Rotation of the inner body relative to the outer body provides for selective alignment or misalignment of the plurality of channels to control fluid flow from the inlet to the outlet. The device may have a plurality of pairs of inner and outer annular bodies as described.

Abstract: A flammable gas diluter includes: a dilution vessel comprising an outer envelope defining a longitudinal flow passage from an inlet to an outlet; at least one air inlet for directing a flow of air into the inlet of the diluter; and a flammable gas inlet arrangement. The dilution vessel has a plurality of gas flow directing formations arranged between the flammable gas inlet arrangement and the outlet, each being at a different position along a length of the dilution vessel. At least one of the plurality of gas flow formations is an inwardly directing gas flow formation for directing gas flow away from the outer envelope and at least one of the gas flow formations is an outwardly directing gas flow formation for directing gas flow towards the outer envelope.

Abstract: An injection and mixing device comprises a casing having an exhaust inlet and an exhaust outlet, the casing internally defining a passage for exhaust gases from the exhaust inlet to the exhaust outlet. The exhaust inlet opens into an inlet region of the passage. The injection and mixing device further includes an injector of a liquid comprising a nitrogen oxide reducing agent or a precursor of such a reducing agent. A deflector is housed within the casing and defines in the passage a first passage connecting the inlet region to the exhaust outlet, in which the exhaust gases flow at a first average velocity, and a second passage connecting the inlet region to the exhaust outlet, in which the exhaust gases flow at a second average velocity lower than the first average velocity, The injector injects liquid into the second passage.

Abstract: The invention pertains to a spray/gas mixer, comprising: a main body having a circumferential wall with a first longitudinal axis (A) and extending from a first end to a second end, the first end defining an inlet opening, the second end defining an outlet opening; a divider baffle inside the interior; a swirl duct within the interior along a second longitudinal axis (B), having one end adjacent to the wall and a second end extending to the divider baffle; an injector orifice at the first end of the swirl duct; a swirl promoting means; and a restrictor arrangement. The swirl promoting means is arranged between the divider baffle and the restrictor arrangement, such that gas passing through the swirl promoting means is swirled around the first longitudinal axis (A) before passing through the restrictor. The restrictor arrangement is disposed between the swirl promoting means and the second end, forcing gas reaching it from an upstream side away from a peripheral region of the interior towards a center axis of the main body.

Abstract: A mixing apparatus for in-line mixing of fluids is described herein. In some embodiments, the mixing apparatus comprises a mixer body defining a plurality of support arms and a substantially conical flow member that can be coupled to the plurality of support arms. In other embodiments, the mixer body defines at least one body injection passage extending from an injection inlet on the exterior surface of the mixer body through one of the support arms; the flow member defines a flow member injection passage extending through at least a portion of the flow member to an injection outlet defined at the leading end or the peripheral surface of the flow member; and the flow member is coupled to the support arms such that the injection inlet is in fluid communication with the injection outlet via the mixer body injection passage and the flow member injection passage.

Abstract: A mixer duct for mixing of a turbulent flow includes an inlet, an outlet in fluid communication with the inlet, and at least one static mixer element located between the inlet and the outlet. The at least one static mixer element includes at least two at least substantially coplanar plate-like segments spaced apart by a substantially longitudinal gap. Each segment is attached to a duct wall and comprises at least two free edges, with one free edge being a leading edge and the other free edge adjacent to the longitudinal gap. Abstract: A mixing apparatus for generating and mixing gas bubbles into an aqueous solution includes a structure defining an interior fluid-flow chamber that extends along a longitudinal axis between an input port at a liquid input end and an output port at a liquid output end. The structure includes a gas injection portion located upstream from the liquid output end and a mixing vane portion extending in the downstream direction from the gas injection portion. The gas injection portion defines a gas injection lumen and a first region of the interior fluid-flow chamber, while the mixing vane portion defines a second region of the interior fluid-flow chamber. The first region of the interior fluid-flow chamber includes a plurality of side fluid-path lumens that extend alongside a first part of the gas injection lumen. This first part of the gas injection lumen and the side fluid-path lumens merge with a downstream fluid-path lumen of the first region.

Abstract: One aspect of the invention relates to a method comprising a single stage conversion of an atmospheric pollutant, such as NO, NO2 and/or SOx in a first stream to one or more mineral acids and/or salts thereof by reacting with nonionic gas phase chlorine dioxide (ClO20), wherein the reaction is carried out in the gas phase. Another aspect of the invention relates to a method comprising first adjusting the atmospheric pollutant concentrations in a first stream to a molar ratio of about 1:1, and then reacting with an aqueous metal hydroxide solution (MOH). Another aspect of the invention relates to an apparatus that can be used to carry out the methods disclosed herein. The methods disclosed herein are unexpectedly efficient and cost effective, and can be applied to a stream comprising high concentration and large volume of atmospheric pollutants.

The controller is electrically connected with the mixing and shearing device and controls the operation of the mixing and shearing device, and the mixing and shearing device is configured to simultaneously mix and shear the materials with different material properties to obtain the hydrosol solution.
