摘要: A process for application of a protective coating to a steel, concrete, or wooden structure so as to provide protection against corrosion, weathering, or other environmental damage in which the surface to be protected is heated to a temperature in a range of about 75.degree. F. to about 150.degree. F. after which a liquid thermoset primer is applied to the heated material in two stages. The first portion is solidified by heating and then coated with a second portion, forming an uncured liquid thermoset outer primer layer. A melted polymer powder layer is then applied by flamespraying over the uncured liquid thermoset primer layer, forming an intermediate polymer powder layer embedded in the uncured liquid thermoset primer layer. The intermediate melted polymer powder layer is then heated to a flow temperature of the polymer powder and a second layer of melted polymer powder is applied over the intermediate polymer powder layer, forming an outer melted polymer powder layer which then cools to form the final protective coating.

摘要: A painted substrate forms at least a portion of an exterior body panel of a vehicle. A pre-treatment layer, and electrocoat layer, and a primer layer overlie the substrate. A colored, opaque basecoat layer overlies the primer layer and is comprised of polymeric resin and a first coloring agent. The basecoat layer is formulated to provide near ultraviolet light blocking. A colored, opaque topcoat layer overlies the basecoat layer and is comprised of polymeric resin and a second coloring agent having substantially the same color as the first coloring agent. The topcoat layer is formulated to provide a glossy appearance, chemical resistance, and scratch resistance. The topcoat layer is also formulated to provide ultraviolet blocking and paint-chip resistance greater than the ultraviolet blocking and paint-chip resistance of the basecoat layer.

摘要: A soil-resistant transfer sheet which comprises, in the following order, a substrate sheet (a), a soil-resistant layer (b), a coating layer (c), and optionally an adhesive layer (d), wherein a surface of the soil-resistant layer, which reveals after the substrate sheet (a) is removed, has a contact angle with water of 100° or larger and a contact angle with hexadecane of 40° or larger; a process for producing a molded resin by in-mold labeling using the transfer sheet. The soil-resistant layer (b) is a layer obtained from a soil-resistant composition, and the coating layer (c) is a layer obtained from a polymerizable coating composition. The soil-resistant composition especially preferably is a perfluoropolyether urethane acrylate composition.

摘要: An apparatus and method for coating glass, and specifically to perfluoroalkoxy copolymer coated glass and a method for manufacturing same. A glass substrate is placed on an electrically grounded support and cleaned with a solvent to remove impurities and prepare the surface of the substrate to be coated. The surface is coated with a primer and an electro-conductive enhancer is uniformly applied to the primer so that the surface of the glass substrate is wet, but not uneven. The perfluoroalkoxy copolymer is powder sprayed on the electro-conductive enhancer while the enhancer is still wet. The perfluoroalkoxy copolymer is secured to the glass substrate by evaporating the electro-conductive enhancer.
