Abstract:
A method of manufacturing an elevator includes installing a movable supporting platform and an elevator car in the elevator hoistway; taking the elevator car into use to serve passengers and/or to transport goods; removing the elevator car from use; changing the service range of the elevator car to reach higher up in the elevator hoistway by lifting the supporting platform higher up in the elevator hoistway; and taking the elevator car back into use. The elevator is reeved to include construction-time hoisting roping, which includes one or more ropes, the longitudinal power transmission capacity of which is based at least essentially on non-metallic fibers in the longitudinal direction of the rope. In the method, guide rails to be fixed with guide rail brackets can additionally be installed by the aid of an installation device. An elevator arrangement can be used to perform the method.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a paper guide rope, braided from a plurality of textile subunits, wherein each subunit contains a plurality of twisted yarns made from multifilament yarn. The rope according to the invention is characterized in that the titre of at least part of the twisted yarns, preferably of all the twisted yarns, is in each case at most 5000 dtex, and that the twist rate of at least part of the twisted yarns, preferably of all the twisted yarns, is in each case at least 150 T/m.
Abstract:
A stent is provided with braided filaments. First and second filaments are braided with each other and extend spirally around the stent wall in opposite directions. One or more third filaments are braided with the first filaments and extends spirally around the stent wall only in the direction of the second filaments. The third filament is stiffer than the first and second filaments, and there are fewer third filaments than the first and second filaments.
Abstract:
Provide is a braided wire manufacturing method and a braided wire manufacturing apparatus which can produce a braided wire accurately braided without distortion. In a braided wire manufacturing apparatus, a plurality of conductive wires fed from a wire feeding mechanism are braided into a braided wire from a convergence position after passing through a mesh hole die, and the braided wire after passing along a guide roller is wound up using a capstan unit. The guide roller has a guide width for horizontal direction restriction so that movement of the braided wire in the horizontal direction falls within a predetermined restriction width from an ideal center position. The guide roller is provided at a height of a braid pitch of the braided wire in the perpendicular direction from the convergence position as a second feature.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a multifilament yarn containing n filaments, wherein the filaments are obtained by spinning an ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE), said yarn having a tenacity (Ten) as expressed in cN/dtex of Ten(cN/dtex)=f×n−0.05×dpf−0.15, wherein Ten is at least 39 cN/dtex, n is at least 25, f is a factor of at least 58 and dpf is the dtex per filament.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a high strength fibers comprising a coating of cross-linked silicone polymer, and ropes made thereof. The fibers are preferably high performance polyethylene (HPPE) fibers. The coating comprising a cross-linked silicone polymer is made from a coating composition comprising a cross-linkable silicone polymer. The rope shows markedly improved service life performance in bending applications such as cyclic bend-over-sheave applications. The invention also relates to the use of a cross-linked silicone polymer in a rope for an improvement of bend fatigue resistance.
Abstract:
A method is provided for forming a high strength synthetic rope useful for towing warps, trawler warps, yachting ropes, mooring lines, anchor lines, oil derrick anchoring lines, seismic lines, seismic lines and any other uses for rope, cable or chain.
Abstract:
Synthetic fiber rope for a crane, include a central strand having an inner core made of a synthetic resin and an inner cover made of synthetic fibers and connected to the inner core via braiding, a plurality of outer strands each of which includes an outer core made of a synthetic resin and an outer cover made of synthetic fibers and connected to the outer core via twisting and which are connected to the outer surface of the central strand via braiding, and a jacket made of synthetic fibers and braided to cover the surface of the plurality of outer strands. Method of manufacturing a synthetic fiber rope is also disclosed.
Abstract:
A high strength surgical suture material with improved tie down characteristics and tissue compliance formed of ultrahigh molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) yarns, the suture being coated with arginine-glycine-aspartate (RGD) peptide. The suture has exceptional strength, is ideally suited for most orthopedic procedures, and can be attached to a suture anchor or a curved needle.
Abstract:
A high strength abrasion resistant surgical suture material with improved tie down characteristics is color coded for visualization and identification purposes. The suture features a multifilament cover formed of strands of ultra high molecular weight long chain polyethylene braided with polyester, nylon or a bioabsorbable material. Selected nylon fibers in the cover are provided in a color contrasting with the other cover fibers to provide an identifiable trace. The cover surrounds a core formed of twisted strands of ultrahigh molecular weight polyethylene. The suture, provided in a #2 size, has the strength of #5 Ethibond, is ideally suited for most orthopedic procedures, and can be attached to a suture anchor or a curved needle.
