摘要: A device, e.g., a radar transceiver, includes a receiver and a transmitter. One such device includes a phase shifter having a first input to receive an oscillating signal and a second input to receive a control signal. The device also includes a signal generator having a quadrature (Q) channel output to output a quadrature phase version of the oscillating signal; and a Q channel mixer having an input coupled to the Q channel output. A feedback path of the device includes a filter having an output and an input coupled to an output of the Q channel mixer, and an integrator having an input coupled to the output of the filter. The integrator has an output coupled to the second input of the phase shifter, in which the integrator outputs the control signal to the phase shifter.

摘要: A FCFMSIL radar includes a SILO, a frequency conversion unit, an antenna unit, a demodulation unit and a processing unit. The frequency conversion unit converts an oscillation signal of the SILO into a FMCW signal. The antenna unit transmits the FMCW signal to an area as a transmitted signal and receives a reflected signal from the area as a received signal. The frequency conversion unit converts the received signal into an injection signal and injects it into the SILO. The demodulation unit demodulates the oscillation signal into an in-phase demodulated signal and a quadrature demodulated signal. The processing unit processes the in-phase and the quadrature demodulated signals to obtain a baseband signal and thus acquire a phase and a frequency of a tone in the frequency-domain baseband signal, and determines the tone corresponding to one or multiple objects based on the phase and frequency of the tone.

摘要: A sensing system includes a first radar sensing assembly and an analysis system. The first radar sensing assembly measures plural distances to a first target location at different times using radar. The analysis system receives the plural distances from the first radar sensing assembly and quantifies movements of a target object at the first target location at the different times by calculating differences in the plural distances measured by the first radar sensing assembly. The analysis system generates one or more first quantified activity level values indicative of the movements of the target object at the first target location using the differences in the plural distances that are calculated.

摘要: A patient immersion sensor includes a radio detection and ranging (RADAR) apparatus to determine a time of flight (TOF) of a RADAR pulse and a reflected signal that is reflected by a patient or by a portion of a patient support surface supporting the patient. The TOF is indicative of an immersion depth or a distance toward bottoming out of a patient supported on the patient support surface, such as a mattress or a pad. The RADAR apparatus emits pulses of very short duration so as to be able to detect objects, such as a patient or a portion of a mattress or pad, at very close distances. The RADAR apparatus may use time-of-flight (TOF) between transmission of the pulse and receipt of a reflected signal to determine a distance toward bottoming out by the patient, thereby to determine if the patient is properly immersed into the patient support surface. Adjustments to inflation or deflation of one or more bladders are made to achieve a desired immersion amount within a tolerance range between upper and lower TOF thresholds.

摘要: In one embodiment, a method includes providing instructions to broadcast a modulated radar chirp signal from a radar antenna of a vehicle. The modulated radar chirp signal includes data associated with the vehicle. The method includes receiving a first return signal whose waveform substantially matches the modulated chirp signal. The first return signal is the modulated radar chirp signal after reflecting off of an object in an environment surrounding the vehicle. The method includes calculating a location for the object using the first return signal, receiving, from a base station antenna, a second return signal that indicates the modulated chirp signal was received by the base station antenna, and providing instructions to establish a wireless communication session with the base station antenna.
