Abstract:
Therapeutic devices that provide support or pressure to tissue. Devices contain a material that is capable of being contracted from its relaxed state to an evacuated state. The material applies pressure to the tissue of a patient when the material is in its relaxed state. Reduction of pressure by application of a vacuum results in a contracted state of the device, so that the device can be applied or delivered to a patient. Release of vacuum results in a return to the relaxed state, thus providing a maximum desirable pressure to tissue and avoiding the possibility of over-pressure which can result in tissue damage or necrosis.
Abstract:
A method and device for increasing blood flow by applying positive pressure to extremities of a mammal and/or controlling the temperature of the mammal. The device includes one or more collapsible and pliant body elements capable of expanding and flexibly applying pressurized compression forces to the extremity of the mammal by attaching one or more pressure-applying gas plenums as close to the extremity as possibly. The flexible extremity device can be used independently or can be used in conjunction with thermal pads disposed to the one or more collapsible and pliant body elements. Alternatively, the one or more collapsible and pliant body elements can be manufactured into thermal pads.
Abstract:
A fire cupping jar includes a cup portion and a lamp that is provided in the cupping jar. The cupping jar can be repeatedly used without needing to be replenished with alcohol and can use fire capable of providing uniform flame.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a spacer fabric with advanced cushionability, flexibility, and thermal conductivity, and a method of fabricating the same. In accordance with the present invention, the spacer fabric is useful as a car seat fabric. In particular, the spacer fabric is applicable to a car seat equipped with an actuator and a heating/cooling apparatus inside, due to the advanced flexibility for transferring the actuator moving effect to the body, the increased cushionability for minimizing the hardness of the surface of the device, and the high thermal conductivity for effectively transferring the quick heating/cooling effect to the body.
Abstract:
Devices and methods for cooling an electro-mechanical chest compression device. A blower or fan forces air through the device and a metal foil distributes heat. The temperature of the device and the patient is measured and the processor controls the operation of the device based on the measured temperature.
Abstract:
A thermoceramic lifter of a thermotherapy apparatus that applies pressure to acupressure points of a user and smoothly and silently raises and lowers itself as needed, applies pressure comfortably to local areas as specified by the user, and has a simple lifting structure, is provided. The lifter (200) of a thermoceramic unit (100) lifts and lowers the thermoceramic unit (100) at a predetermined location along a lengthwise movement of the thermoceramic unit (100). The lengthwise movement is enabled by a conveyor in the thermotherapy apparatus. The lifter (200) includes a box-shaped guiding block (220), a geared motor (210) installed opposite to the open side of the guiding block (220), a sliding block (230) raised and lowered within the guiding block (220) linear movement, and a cover plate (240) to cover the open side of the guiding block (220).
Abstract:
A massage tool for use in performing an ice massage including an anchor extending from the bottom of a base for extending into a mold for receiving a block of ice. The massage tool includes a handle by which the tool can be manipulated, which provides thermal isolation from the ice attached to the tool. The tool is weighted to reduce the amount of additional force needed to apply the desired pressure during the massage, thereby reducing hand and muscle fatigue of the therapist providing the massage.
Abstract:
For medicine, sports and cosmonautics, a method of biomechanotherapy massage and therapeutic action on a human body performed both by heat and light waves and by mechanical waves which are sequential and parallel combinations of longitudinal and transverse modulated solitary waves of length from 0.005 to 0.1 m propagating along the body with speed from 0.01 to 12 m/s, where the solitary waves are formed on the body due to an impulsive action of separate thermovibratodes interconnected with a controlled link and acting on a human body with a temperature from 0 to 90° C., a specific pressure from 0.5·105 to 4·105 Pa and a shear thrust from 0.1 to 100 N. The proposed method of biomechanotherapy allows to increase efficiency of the therapeutic and sports massage and to improve results of an integral treatment of various diseases. Wave biomechanotherapy increases 1.5–2 times the peripheral blood flow facilitating the work of the cardiovascular system, improving the rheological properties of blood, blood supply to all organs and the functional condition of these parameters. Wave biomechanotherapy actively stimulates the metabolism, accelerates rehabilitation processes in organs and tissues and increases drainage of decay products from a body in a natural way.
Abstract:
A portable sauna system includes a portable sauna enclosure defining an enclosed body receiving interior volume and defining a head opening, two hand openings, and two foot openings. A divide, or entryway, extends from the head opening to a point spaced apart from the bottom end for entering a body into the enclosure. Opposing sides of the divide include a closure device, such as a zipper or buttons, to close the enclosure about a body. A hot air inlet is formed in the portable sauna enclosure and designed to receive a hot air outlet of a hot air supply for communicating hot air from the hot air supply to the body receiving interior volume. A hot air unit has a hot air outlet nozzle attachable to the hot air inlet of the portable sauna enclosure, the hot air unit includes a thermostat control.
