A coating composition comprising a) a condensation product of at least one hydrolyzable silane having a fluorine-containing group and at least one hydrolyzable silane having a cationically polymerizable group, and b) a cationic initiator, provides, upon curing, substrates with an alkali-resistant, liquid-repellent coating.
Abstract:
Preparations of particles having a glass surface, wherein more than 75% by weight of these particles have a particle size between 0.5 μm and 15 μm and a glass surface which contains between 2 and 6 mole % zinc oxide, have proven to be particularly advantageous in processes for the purification of nucleic acids. This in particular results in an increased nucleic acid yield.
Abstract:
A muntin bar assembly for a window or door including a peripheral frame; a continuous surface contained within the frame; at least one continuous muntin bar and at least two discontinuous muntin bars on at least one side of the surface. The continuous muntin bar and discontinuous muntin bars both contain a continuous recessed portion on their underside and are connected together using an intersection clip having a spring-type arrangement which forms an intersection of the bars. The intersection clip has a raised central section that fits within the recessed portion of the continuous muntin bar; and further has two extensions positioned at opposite sides from the central portion which permit engagement of the discontinuous muntin bars to form the muntin assembly. An end clip is also included for attachment and alignment of the inner and outer assembly muntin bar ends and has a U-shape that fits over the edges of the surface for aligning and attaching the inner and outer assembly muntin bars.
Abstract:
Two connections are set up. The first one serves to transmit voice information and is controlled by a connection controller routed signaling H.225A, BICC*, H.225B. The second one serves to transmit image information and is controlled by a direct end point routed signaling H.245. Therefore, the services of the network PSTN can also be offered in full to the video telephony in an advantageous manner.
Abstract:
A process for producing an optical element having a gradient structure, wherein a potential difference is generated in a nanocomposite material comprising nanoscale particles in a matrix material to cause a directed diffusion of the nanoscale particles in the matrix material and a concentration gradient of the nanoscale particles in the matrix material.
Abstract:
This invention relates to adhesive compositions of which the binder system contains nanoscale particles with ferromagnetic, ferrimagnetic, superparamagnetic or piezoelectric properties. The invention also relates to dissolvable adhesive bonds and to a process for dissolving adhesive bonds.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for coating a substrate according to which a self-crosslinking coating composition is produced on the basis of a) at least one hydrolysable silane with at least one nonhydrolysable substituent, said silane having one or more electrophilic groups X on at least one nonhydrolysable substitutent, b) at least one hydrolysable silane with at least one nonhydrolysable substituent, said silane having one or more nucleophilic groups Y on at least one nonhydrolysable substituent, c) at least one hydrolysable silane with at least one nonhydrolysable carbonic group that has an average of 2 to 30 fluorine atoms that are bound to one or more aliphatic carbon atoms that are separated from the silicon atom by at least two atoms. The silanes (a), (b) and/or (c) are optionally precondensed and either the silanes (a) may be completely or partially replaced by organic compounds with at least two groups X or the silanes (b) may be completely or partially replaced by organic compounds with at least two groups Y. The self-crosslinking coating composition is then applied to a substrate and allowed to cure at ambient temperature (below 40° C.) to form a coating.
Abstract:

Abstract:
Suspensions and powders based on indium tin oxide are prepared by a method in which indium tin oxide precursors are precipitated from solutions in one or more solvents in the presence of one or more surface-modifying components, the solvent(s) are removed from the precipitate, which is then calcined, one or more surface-modifying components and one or more solvents are added, the mixture is comminuted or dispersed to form a suspension, and the liquid components are separated from the suspension to give a powder. The powder may be converted into a moulding by a shaping process. The materials prepared by this method are especially suitable as coating materials for use in microelectronics and optoelectronics.
