    Abstract: A device may determine sample points associated with network routes within a network during a time interval, wherein each sample point that is associated with a respective network route comprises an amount of uptime for the respective network route during the time interval and a total frequency of state changes for the respective network route during the time interval. The device may generate, using an unsupervised machine learning mechanism, clusters of the sample points and may label the network routes with route stability labels based at least in part on the clusters. The device may generate, using a supervised machine learning mechanism, a route stability classifier based at least in part on the route stability labels for the network routes, and may determine, using the route stability classifier, a route stability of a new network route within the network.

    Abstract: A process includes enforcing compliance of a compute appliance to a reference operating state for the compute appliance. The compute appliance is part of a cloud-based computing system. Enforcing compliance with the reference operating state includes, responsive to a startup of the compute appliance, the compute appliance determining an actual compute state of the compute appliance. The actual compute state includes an actual physical topology placement of a hardware component of the compute appliance. Determining the actual compute state includes determining the physical topology placement of the hardware component. Enforcing compliance with the reference operating state includes verifying whether the actual compute state complies with the reference compute state. The verification includes comparing the actual compute state to the reference compute state. Enforcing compliance with the reference operating state includes, responsive to a result of the verification, controlling whether the compute appliance is part of the cloud-based computing system.

    Abstract: Examples described herein relate to an optical device that entails phase shifting an optical signal. The optical device includes an optical waveguide having a first semiconductor material region and a second semiconductor material region formed adjacent to each other and defining a junction therebetween. Further, the optical device includes an insulating layer formed on top of the optical waveguide. Moreover, the optical device includes a III-V semiconductor layer formed on top of the insulating layer causing an optical mode of an optical signal passing through the optical waveguide to overlap with the first semiconductor material region, the second semiconductor material region, the insulating layer, and the III-V semiconductor layer thereby resulting in a phase shift in the optical signal passing through the optical waveguide.

    Abstract: In embodiments of the present disclosure, a method is provided for managing a communication channel between a first communication unit and a second communication unit in an AP. At the first communication unit, a request is transmitted to the second communication unit for reserving a communication channel. Here, the second communication unit is associated with a Wi-Fi network that is different from a network type associated with the first communication unit, and the first and second communication units share a band of the communication channel. A response for reserving the communication channel is received from the second communication unit. In accordance with a determination that the response indicates the communication channel has been reserved for a time duration, data is transmitted at the first communication unit within the time duration on the communication channel. Therefore, conflicts between the first and second communication units in the AP may be reduced.

    Abstract: In some examples, a first storage system receives a transfer of a synchronous replication role and an asynchronous replication role of a second storage system to the first storage system, where in the synchronous replication role the second storage system is to synchronously replicate data to the first storage system, and in the asynchronous replication role the second storage system is to asynchronously replicate a first data storage object to a third storage system. The first storage system uses, at the first storage system, translation information to identify a second data storage object that the second storage system is to asynchronously replicate to the third storage system following the transfer.
