Abstract: A resin composition used for a sliding member to improve seizing resistance. The sliding resin composition includes: a resin binder; a solid lubricant; and aggregates of particles. A coupling force between the particles in the aggregates is smaller than a threshold stress of the resin binder so that the aggregates exposed at a surface of the resin binder are partially detached with a force smaller than the threshold stress of the resin binder. The aggregates of the particles harder than the resin binder are used as a protecting and reinforcing agent, and the amount of the particles contained in the sliding resin composition is 1 vol. % or more but 20 vol. % or less of the entire sliding resin composition. The particles harder than the resin binder have an average particle diameter of between 10 nm and 100 nm that is smaller than that of the solid lubricant.

Abstract: A main bearing includes first and second half bearings, each having a main cylinder portion and crush relief portions in both circumferential end portions. An oil groove circumferentially extends on an inner circumferential surface only of the first half bearing, one circumferential end portion of the oil groove opens on a circumferential end surface on a front side in a rotation direction, and the other circumferential end portion of the oil groove is positioned in the main cylinder portion. The first half bearing includes a transition region at least between the crush relief portion on the rear side in the rotation direction and the main cylinder portion, and the second half bearing includes a transition region at least between the crush relief portion on the front side in the rotation direction and the main cylinder portion.

Abstract: A main bearing for a crankshaft of an internal combustion engine has first and second half bearings forming an axial groove on an inner circumferential surface of a butting portion. Each half bearing has a main cylinder portion including a central portion, and crush relief portions each extending toward the central portion from an end surface of the half bearing with a center angle of 3° to 15°. A plurality of crush relief grooves are formed in each crush relief portion in the circumferential direction to communicate with the axial groove. An oil groove is formed in the circumferential direction on an inner circumferential surface of the first half bearing. The second half bearing has a transition region having an inward protruding curved surface a wall thickness of which becomes thinner toward the crush relief portion from the main cylinder portion.

Abstract: Provided is a sliding member having: a back metal layer; and a sliding layer on the back metal layer. The sliding layer includes a porous sintered layer and a resin composition. The sintered layer includes Ni—P alloy phase and granular steel phase made of a carbon steel including 0.3-1.3 mass % of carbon and having a structure of: ferrite phase; and perlite phase, or perlite phase and cementite phase. The Ni—P alloy phase binds the steel phases with one another and/or binds the steel phases with the back metal layer. The steel phase includes a low perlite phase part in a surface. The low perlite phase part has an area ratio of the perlite phase lowered by 50% or more compared with a total area ratio of the perlite phase and the cementite phase at a central part of the steel phase when observed in a cross-section.
