Abstract: Techniques for modulating and scrambling channel state information reference signals (CSI-RS) for more than eight antenna ports are discussed. One example system employing such techniques can include a processor and transmitter circuitry. The processor can be configured to determine CSI-RS signal parameters for a user equipment (UE) and modulate a plurality of CSI-RS signals based on a modulation sequence. The transmitter circuitry can be configured to transmit the CSI-RS signal parameters and the modulated plurality of CSI-RS signals to the UE. Each of the plurality of CSI-RS signals can be associated with a distinct CSI-RS antenna port of a plurality of CSI-RS antenna ports of the transmitter circuitry, and the modulation sequence can be based at least in part on indices of the CSI-RS antenna ports or subcarriers associated with the plurality of CSI-RS signals.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and storage media for providing multi-cell, multi-point single user (SU) multiple input and multiple output (MIMO) operations are described. In embodiments, an apparatus may receive and process a first set of one or more independent data streams received in a downlink channel from a first transmission point. The apparatus may receive and process a second set of one or more independent data streams received in a downlink channel from a second transmission point. The apparatus may process control information received from the first transmission point or the second transmission point. The control information may include an indication of a quasi co-location assumption to be used for estimating channel characteristics for reception of the first set of one or more independent data streams or the second set of one or more independent data streams. Abstract: Aperiodic channel state information (CSI) reporting is discussed. An example user equipment includes a receiver circuit, processor, and transmitter circuit. The receiver circuit receives transmissions from a plurality of serving cells via a carrier aggregation (CA) mode and receives an aperiodic CSI reporting request indicating a set for CSI reporting. The plurality of serving cells comprises at least six serving cells, and one or more of the plurality is associated with the indicated set. The processor is operably coupled to the receiver circuit and calculates one or more CSI parameters for each serving cell of the plurality that is associated with the indicated set; and generates an aperiodic CSI report based at least in part on the calculated CSI parameters for each serving cell associated with the indicated set. The transmitter circuit transmits the aperiodic CSI report to an Evolved NodeB (eNB) via a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH).

Abstract: Communication signals using a first and a second frequency band in a wireless network is described herein. The first frequency band may be associated with a first beamwidth while the second frequency band may be associated with a second beamwidth. An apparatus may include receiver circuitry arranged to receive first signals in a first frequency band associated with a first beamwidth and second signals in a second frequency band associated with a second beamwidth, the first signals comprising a frame synchronization parameter and the second signals comprising frame alignment signals. The apparatus may further include processor circuitry coupled to the receiver circuitry, the processor circuitry arranged to activate or deactivate the receiver circuitry to receive the frame alignment signals based on the frame synchronization parameter. Abstract: Embodiments of a system and method for simultaneous high-speed multi-user beam tracking in a Wireless Network are generally described herein. A transmitting station (STA) may be configured to support directional wireless links with multiple receiving STAs in a high-mobility millimeter-wave (mm Wave) wireless network. The transmitting STA may include hardware processing circuitry configured to, for each of the multiple receiving STAs, transmit a packet over a directional wireless link between the transmitting STA and the receiving STA and receive transmit antenna performance metrics from the receiving STA. The packet may include a data portion, a receive training sequence, and a transmit training sequence that occupy different portions of the packet, and the transmission of the packet over the directional wireless link may include transmission of the data portion of the packet according to a current transmit antenna direction associated with the directional wireless link.

Abstract: Embodiments of a system and method for reporting channel state information (CSI) in a wireless network are generally described herein. In some embodiments, an apparatus of a User Equipment (UE) can include physical layer circuitry to receive, in a first subframe, a first aperiodic CSI request from a first cell group, and a second aperiodic CSI request from a second cell group. The UE can include processing circuitry to determine a number of requested CSI processes corresponding to the first aperiodic CSI request and the second aperiodic CSI request. Additionally, the processing circuitry can select a subset of the requested CSI processes when the determined number of requested CSI processes is more than five. Furthermore, the processing circuitry can calculate CSI for the selected CSI processes.

Abstract: Techniques of enhanced listen-before-talk (LBT) at an Evolved NodeB (eNB) are discussed. An example apparatus within an eNB implementing such techniques comprises a receiver circuit, processor, and transmitter circuit. The receiver circuit is configured to receive a set of signals over a selected frequency band. The processor is configured to determine a subset of the set via an energy detection metric; determine, for each signal of the subset, whether that signal comprises one of a plurality of Long Term Evolution (LTE) reference signals (RSs); and implement a back-off procedure in response to a determination that at least one signal of the subset does not comprise one of the plurality of LTE RSs. The transmitter is configured to transmit a transmission comprising a first RS of the plurality of LTE RSs in response to a determination that each signal of the subset comprises one of the plurality of LTE RSs.

Abstract: Technology for reducing signal interference is disclosed. Semi-static signaling can be received at a user equipment (UE) from a neighboring evolved node (eNB). The semi-static signaling can include potential configurations of signal parameters used at the neighboring eNB. The UE can receive dynamic signaling from the neighboring eNB that includes a subset of the potential configurations of signal parameters used at the neighboring eNB. Signal interference that is caused by the neighboring eNB can be reduced using the semi-static signaling and the dynamic signaling.
