A solvent composition including 1-chloro-2,3,3-trifluoro-1-propene and 1-chloro-3,3-difluoro-1-propyne, a cleaning method of bringing the solvent composition and an article into contact with each other, a method of dissolving a nonvolatile organic compound in the solvent composition to produce a coating film-forming composition and evaporating the solvent composition after applying the coating film-forming composition on an article to be coated, to form a coating film, a heat transfer fluid including the solvent composition, and a heat cycle system using the heat transfer fluid.

Abstract: An electric machine includes a rotor assembly having a rotor core that extends in an axial direction and a stator assembly surrounding and coaxial with the rotor assembly. The stator assembly includes a stator core having slots extending in a radial direction into an inner surface of the stator core and extending axially from a first end surface to a second end surface of the stator core. The stator assembly includes stator coil windings disposed within the respective slots of the stator core and a first electrically insulating conformal coating disposed between the stator core and the stator coil windings. The conformal coating includes a polymer matrix impregnated with an effective amount of thermally conductive ceramic materials, above a percolation threshold, that form continuous thermal pathways across a thickness of the first coating.

Abstract: A method and a system for producing a change in a medium disposed in an artificial container. The method places in a vicinity of the medium at least one of a plasmonics agent and an energy modulation agent. The method applies an initiation energy through the artificial container to the medium. The initiation energy interacts with the plasmonics agent or the energy modulation agent to directly or indirectly produce the change in the medium. The system includes an initiation energy source configured to apply an initiation energy to the medium to activate the plasmonics agent or the energy modulation agent.

Abstract: A method for a carbon nanofiber composite, which can obtain a carbon nanofiber composite with high productivity and high activity, and which does not require removal of fluidizing materials or dispersing materials, provides a carbon nanofiber composite having improved dispersibility. The method for producing the carbon nanofiber composite includes bringing at least one catalyst and at least one particulate carbon material into contact with at least one gas containing at least one gaseous carbon-containing compound while mechanically stirring the catalyst and the particulate carbon material in a reactor. The carbon nanofiber composite includes carbon nanofibers and at least one particulate carbon material, wherein the particulate carbon material has 70% by volume or more of particles with a particle diameter of 1 μm or less, and/or a median diameter D50 by volume of 1 μm or less.

Abstract: A photocatalyst laminate which is composed of an undercoat layer provided on a substrate and a photocatalyst layer laminated on the surface of the undercoat layer. The undercoat layer contains (A) 100 parts by mass of a resin component and (B) 0.1-50 parts by mass of fine core-shell particles, each of which has a core that is formed of a fine tetragonal titanium oxide solid solution particle wherein tin and manganese are solid-solved and a shell that is formed from silicon oxide on the outside of the core. This photocatalyst laminate is not susceptible to decrease in the photocatalyst function even under outdoor exposure for a long period of time, and is thus capable of providing a coated article that exhibits excellent weather resistance.
