Abstract:
A liquid crystal display device includes a liquid crystal display panel for performing color display, and a backlight unit that includes RGB-LEDs and white LEDs. The RGB-LEDs and the white LEDs are different from each other in color difference between a white point and each primary color point in the respective images displayed on the liquid crystal display panel when the RGB-LEDs and the white LEDs are individually turned on. Further, the light source includes a backlight control section arranged to select one type of the light-emitting elements to emit light, so that the color difference in an image display on the liquid crystal display panel is smaller when the image has a higher lightness.
Abstract:
A liquid crystal display device according to the present invention includes: a first substrate; a second substrate disposed so as to be closer to a viewer than the first substrate is; a liquid crystal layer provided between the first substrate and the second substrate; a light source provided by a side of the first substrate, the light source emitting light toward a side face of the first substrate; and a selective reflection layer formed on a principal face of the first substrate opposite from the viewer, the selective reflection layer selectively reflecting light of a specific polarization direction.
Abstract:
An illumination device for a flat panel display may include a light-guiding member for guiding light from a light-emitting lamp, wherein the light-emitting lamp has a light-emitting device incorporated in a lamp body, wherein the lamp body has a reflection surface that reflects light from the light-emitting device and an emitting surface that is opposite to the reflection surface and irradiates the reflected light from the reflection surface toward the light-guiding member. In certain example embodiments, the emitting surface is formed into a shape along the irradiated surface of the light-guiding member and the reflection surface is formed to be curved such that the reflected light is made approximately parallel seen from one direction upon reflecting the light from the light-emitting device.
Abstract:
A method for producing a rare earth sintered magnet uses granules having an excellent fluidity to improve the dimensional accuracy and production of a compact formed of the granules without significant property losses. The granules are formed by adding an organic liquid to primary alloy particles having a predetermined composition to produce granules having the primary alloy particles adhered together by the organic liquid. Preferably, from 1.5 to 15.0% by weight of the organic liquid is added to the primary alloy particles.
Abstract:
A switch is turned on when a shutter button is pressed down. An LED, provided on the front face of a unit body, is lit up to indicate a photographing moment in response to the turning of the switch on. When the shutter button is released, the switch is turned off and thereby the LED is turned off. In another embodiment, an indication member shifts to indicate the photographing moment in response to the shutter operation.
Abstract:
An oxide thin film having good characteristic properties is prepared by reducing an occurrence of an oxygen defect of the resulting oxide thin film and promoting the epitaxial growth of the film. The oxide thin film is prepared by admixing a raw gas, a carrier gas and an oxidation gas and supplying the resulting gas mixture on a heated substrate placed in a reaction chamber from a shower plate through a gas activating means which is maintained, by a heating means, at such a temperature that any liquefaction, deposition and film-formation of a raw material are never caused, to thus make the oxidation gas react with one another and to prepare the oxide thin film on the substrate. In this case, a rate of the oxidation gas flow rate is not less than 60% on the basis of the gas mixture. Furthermore, a flow rate of oxidation gas used for forming an initial layer by nucleation is less than 60%, and a flow rate of oxidation gas used in a subsequent film-forming process for forming a second layer is not less than 60%. Furthermore, in an apparatus for preparing the oxide thin film, a heating means is arranged between a gas-mixing unit and a shower plate.
Abstract:
A lens-fitted photo film unit with a flash device is preloaded with a photo film having ISO sensitivity of 1600 or above. When a non-flash night view photography mode is selected by operating an operation member, an aperture stop device switches in a large aperture state and a shutter device switches to slow shutter speed, and the flash device is turned off. Owing to this, an appropriate exposure can be given to a subject whose exposure value is less than 8 at ISO 100, which enables to obtain pictures having high image quality in terms of describing the depth of the image, without use of the flashlight in dim places such as indoors. When a daylight photography mode is selected, it provides small aperture state/fast shutter speed/flash-off state. When a nighttime synch photography mode is selected, it provides large aperture state/slow shutter speed/flash-on state.
Abstract:
A lens-fitted photo film unit is not provided with a flash device. A photo film having ISO sensitivity of 1600 or above is preloaded in the lens-fitted photo film unit in a factory. An exposure device has a large-exposure amount mode and a small-exposure amount mode. In the large-exposure amount mode, appropriate exposure can be given to a subject when an exposure value at ISO 100 is less than 8. A mode switching operation member selects the large-exposure amount mode or the small-exposure amount mode.
Abstract:
A lens-fitted photo film unit is preloaded with a roll of photo film whose film speed is ISO3200, and has a mode selection member that is manually operated to select one of a standard photography mode, an indoor photography mode and a night-view photography mode. In the standard photography mode, an exposure is made without flash with a small aperture size and at a high shutter speed. In the indoor photography mode, an exposure is made with a flashlight, with a middle aperture size and at a high shutter speed. In the night-view photography mode, an exposure is made with a flash light, with a large aperture size and at a low shutter speed.
