    摘要: A modular spring support mounting for a sash window spring counterbalance arrangement includes at least a first spring support mounting element and a second spring support mounting element each for supporting a respective coil spring. The first spring support mounting element includes a pair of wedged shaped cross section projections. The second spring support mounting element includes an interengagement fitting which engages the pair of wedged shaped cross section projections to in use securely interconnect the first and second spring support mounting elements together. Also a method of installing such a modular spring mounting includes the step of laterally slidingly engaging the spring mounting elements to securely interlock the elements together.

    摘要: A starting system for an internal combustion engine automatically operates a starting feature on a carburetor associated with the engine. The starting system includes a cam with a bearing mounted on the crankshaft. The bearing is secured so that its inner race will always rotate with the crankshaft. The cam has bosses on one side and is shaped such that it includes a base and a lobe with an outer surface surrounding the cam. At least one spring-loaded pawl is mounted on the flywheel. The pawl is biased to engage a cam boss so as to cause the cam to rotate with the crankshaft during a start-up process. A spring loaded rocker arm is pivotally mounted adjacent the cam. The rocker arm has a roller assembly configured to ride on the outer surface of the cam. As the cam rotates, the roller assembly riding on the cam surface is pushed outward by the cam lobe. A throttle cable is attached at a first end to the rocker arm and at its opposite end to the starting feature on the carburetor. When the roller assembly ramps up the lobe, the throttle cable is pulled into an extended position to actuate the starting feature of the carburetor.

    摘要: The present invention relates to a method of determining the relative proportions of gases in a mixture, such that the relative proportions of N gases are determined using N-1 sensors, not all of which are specific to a particular gas. In the preferred embodiment, oxygen and carbon dioxide are measured in the presence of nitrogen by measuring magnetic susceptibility and speed of sound. The described method of gas analysis leads to very fast response times and exceptional stability, making the technology suitable for breath-by-breath analysis of respired air. Notably, the method does not require high-temperature components, electrochemical cells, or consumable components.
