摘要: Various systems and methods for providing variable bitrate compression for split deep neural network (DNN) computing are described herein. A system may be configured to manage a split DNN, the split DNN configured to operate on a compute system and a second system over a communication network. The system may access a performance metric; determine, based on the performance metric, a split point of the split DNN, the split point defining a head portion of the split DNN and a tail portion of the split DNN; determine, based on the performance metric, a bottleneck layer configuration for a bottleneck layer at the split point, the bottleneck layer including a bottleneck encoder and a bottleneck decoder; execute the head portion of the DNN and the bottleneck encoder on the compute system; and recurrently access an updated performance metric and determine a revised split point or a revised bottleneck layer configuration based on the updated performance metric.

摘要: Methods, apparatus, systems, and software for implementing context adaptive video streaming using multiple streaming connections. Original video content is split into multiple bitstreams at a video streaming server and streamed to a video streaming client. Higher-importance video content, such as I-frames and the base layer for scalable video coder (SVC) content are streamed over a high-priority streaming connection, while lower-importance video content is streamed over a low-priority streaming connection. The high-priority streaming connection may employ a reliable connection protocol such as TCP protocol, while the lower-priority connection may employ UDP or a modified TCP protocol under which some portions of the bitstream may be dropped. Cross-layer context adaptive streaming may be implemented under which context data such as network context and video application context information may be considered to adjust parameters associated with implement one or more streaming connections.

摘要: A method and an information handling system configured to select a mobility anchor point for a mobile device in a distributed mobility anchor point network may comprise collecting information about movement behavior or data transfer behavior of the mobile device, or tunneling overhead of two or more base stations. A mobility anchor point associated with a first base station may be assigned to the mobile device if the mobile device is connected to the first base station for at least a predetermined amount of time, if the mobile device transfers at least a predetermined amount of data via the first base station, or device if a tunneling overhead of the first base station is less than a predetermined level. In some embodiments, a centralized mobility anchor may be assigned to the mobile device if the mobile device is highly mobile and there is no identified base station to which the mobile device is frequently connected.

摘要: Embodiments of a base station and method for resource allocation using localized and distributed resource blocks are generally described herein. The base station comprises processing circuitry to allocate localized resources to user stations based on receipt of channel quality information received from the user stations and to allocate distributed resource to user stations based on non-receipt of channel quality information. The base station also comprises physical layer circuitry to transmit control information on a physical channel to indicate the resources that are allocated to each scheduled user station.
