Abstract: Input/output (I/O) operation requests from pageable storage mode guests are interpreted without host intervention. In a pageable mode virtual environment, requests issued by pageable storage mode guests are processed by one or more processors of the environment absent intervention from one or more hosts of the environment. Processing of the requests includes manipulating, by at least one processor on behalf of the guests, buffer state information stored in host storage. The manipulating is performed via instructions initiated by the guests and processed by one or more of the processors.

Abstract: Systems and methods of Service Function Chaining (SFC) fault detection and fault isolation include injecting a first frame with a first Virtual Local Area Network (VLAN) Identifier (ID) tag at an input to the SFC, wherein the first VLAN ID is dedicated to fault detection and a plurality of classifiers in the SFC are configured to pass the first frame with the first VLAN ID through the SFC; detecting the first frame with the first VLAN ID tag at an output of the SFC; and determining connectivity of the SFC based on the detecting. The systems and methods can further include injecting a second frame with a second VLAN ID tag through a plurality of services of the SFC; detecting the second frame at each output of each of the plurality of services; and determining a location of the fault based on the detecting the second frame.

Abstract: Systems and techniques for information centric network (ICN) island bridging are described herein. A request at an island domain node in an information centric network may be received. The request may include a data identifier. AN inter-domain discovery may be used to identify a destination domain corresponding to the data identifier. The request may be modified to create an inter-domain request. The inter-domain request may then be communicated to an inter-domain information centric network.

Abstract: In an approach for adjusting an order of actions to process a request, a processor receives a request that includes a set of actions to be performed in a first order. A processor receives monitored information of a service utilized to perform at least one action of the set of actions. A processor compares the monitored information to previously stored information. A processor determines that at least one aspect of the service is experiencing decreased performance based on the comparison. A processor identifies a first action of the set of actions corresponding to the at least one aspect of the service experiencing decreased performance. A processor adjusts the request, such that the request includes the set of actions to be performed in a second order, wherein the second order includes the first action is in a different position. A processor causes the adjusted request to be processed.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus for providing automated testing of network client devices. In one embodiment, test scripts are run at a remote entity which causes changes to functions and/or applications available at the associated client devices. Test scripts may be run as text file framework scripts in a framework run on a script engine. Video capture, optical character recognition (OCR) and image comparison may also be used to determine whether changes to the functions and/or applications run at the devices under test were implemented. The components of the test management and control (TMC) system may be located at separate entities. Several testing entities may access and run tests on the client devices from different remote locations using web services. A reservation service also may be utilized to enable the various testing entities to reserve a date/time for running a test.

Abstract: A method, a device, and a non-transitory storage medium provide receiving a plurality of voice call quality values and values for a plurality key performance indicators (KPIs) related to voice over Wi-Fi voice call quality; selecting a subset of the plurality of KPIs based on a correlation between each KPI and the voice call quality value; performing a plurality of discrete regression analyses based on the subsets of the plurality of KPIs and the voice call quality values to generate a plurality of regression results; determining an accuracy for each of the plurality of regression results; assigning weights to each of the plurality of regression results based on the determined accuracies; and combining the plurality of regression results using the assigned weights to generate a final combined estimated VoWiFi voice call quality algorithm that accurately predicts the voice call quality value based on values for the selected subset of the plurality of KPIs.

Abstract: A method is provided in one example embodiment and may include monitoring, by a radio access network (RAN) orchestration function, impairments between a plurality of candidate locations interconnected by a transport network, wherein one or more network elements capable of performing one or more operations associated with a RAN are located at the plurality of candidate locations; determining a decomposition of one or more operations associated with the RAN into a plurality of sets of virtualized network functions (VNFs) to execute the operations; determining a distribution of the plurality of sets of VNFs among the one or more network elements associated with the RAN for one or more optimal locations of the plurality of candidate locations based, at least in part, on the monitored impairments; and instantiating the plurality of sets of VNFs at each of the one or more optimal locations.

Abstract: One or more processing devices access a service definition for a service provided by one or more entities that each produce machine data or about which machine data is generated. The service definition identifies the entities that provide the service and, for each entity, identifying information for locating machine data pertaining to that entity. The processing devices access a key performance indicator (KPI) for the service that is defined by a search query that produces a value derived from the machine data pertaining to the entities identified in the service definition. The value indicates how the service is performing at a point in time or during a period of time and indicates a state of the KPI. A graphical interface is displayed and an indication of at least one threshold, which defines an end of a range of values representing a state of the KPI, for the KPI is received.

Abstract: Methods, systems, devices, and software are disclosed for generating a network usage profile. Certain embodiments of the network usage profile include a devices-by-node profile, indicating the set of customer devices available for use in communicating with a customer-side network node located at a customer side of an access network over a period of time, where some of the customer devices are not in operative communication with the customer-side network node during a portion of that time. Other embodiments associate the network usage profile with customer information to generate device-by-customer profiles. Still other embodiments associate the network usage profile with network traffic information to generate traffic-by-device profiles. Even other embodiments associate the multiple sources and types of information to generate traffic-by-customer profiles and/or traffic-by-device-by-customer profiles. Any of the profiles may then be accessed by one or more parties for use in affecting various network services, including targeting content delivery.
