Abstract: A valve train for an internal combustion engine may include a cam shaft and a cam follower. The valve train may also include a first cam arranged on the cam shaft for conjoined rotation, and a second cam for conjoined rotation, arranged on the cam shaft axially adjacent to the first cam. The cam follower may be axially adjustable between a first position, in which the cam follower is drive-connected to the first cam, and a second position, in which the cam follower is drive-connected to the second cam. The cam follower may also include a mechanical adjustment device interacting with the cam shaft for axially adjusting the cam follower between the first position and the second position.

A check valve is disposed inside the lower cavity and a spring is disposed inside the pocket. The replacable hydraulic lash adjuster is configured to be slidingly removeable from the rocker arm.

Abstract: A lever arranged for actuation by a cam for the purpose of actuating gas exchange valves of an internal combustion engine is provided. The lever has a contact pad which is configured at one end of the lever on the underside thereof for at least one gas exchange valve, and a contact face for a supporting element, arranged at an opposite end of the lever on the underside. At least one cam thrust face is arranged on an upper side in a region between the contact pad and the contact face. The lever can be loaded is can be manufactured in one piece as either a 2C-MIM (2-Component Metal Injection Molding) component, combined 2C-MIM component and CIM (Ceramic Injection Molding) component, or as a 2C-sintered part having two metal components or having one metal component and one ceramic component.

Abstract: An eccentric hydraulic lash adjuster, a combustion engine comprising the eccentric hydraulic lash adjuster, and a method of assembling the combustion engine, the combustion engine including a rocker lever having a nose at a distal end thereof, and a bridge bar extending between two valves, the rocker lever configured to apply pressure on the bridge bar to actuate the two valves, and an eccentric hydraulic lash adjuster positioned in the nose of the rocker lever; and a fuel injector adjacent to the nose of the rocker lever and the bridge bar, wherein the eccentric hydraulic lash adjuster includes a housing having a pivot point and a longitudinal axis offset from the pivot point and is configured to pivot about the pivot point when the rocker lever pivots about the rocket lever shaft, wherein the offset is dimensioned to prevent interference between the nose and the fuel injector.

Abstract: A single valve compression release bridge brake is provided. The single valve compression release bridge brake includes a braking piston (160) integrated into an inner end of a valve bridge (400) which is located under a rocker arm (210) of an engine. The braking piston (160) is slidably disposed in a braking piston bore (190) opened downwards from the inner end of the valve bridge (400). The lower end of the braking piston (160) is connected to the inner exhaust valve (3001). Oil is supplied to the braking piston bore (190) in the valve bridge (400). The inner end of the valve bridge (400) above the braking piston (160) is pushed upwards against the rocker arm (210) by oil pressure, and a hydraulic linkage is formed between the braking piston (160) and the valve bridge (400). A braking cam lobe (232, 233) actuates the rocker arm (210), the inner end of the valve bridge (400), the hydraulic linkage, the braking piston (160), and finally the inner exhaust valve (3001) for the single valve compression release bridge brake.

Abstract: The present invention can achieve a variable valve mechanism having a simple and compact configuration. A variable valve mechanism changes an opening/closing timing of an intake valve or an exhaust valve in response to an engine rotation speed. The variable valve mechanism includes: a cam sprocket which rotates in response to a rotation of a crank shaft; an intake cam shaft which is integrated with an intake cam; an exhaust cam shaft which is integrated with an exhaust cam; and a governor flange that transmits a rotation of the cam sprocket to the intake cam shaft and the exhaust cam shaft. The intake cam shaft and the exhaust cam shaft are formed so that the other cam shaft is inserted through one cam shaft to be relatively rotatable. The governor flange is provided to rotate along with the intake cam shaft and rotates relative to the cam sprocket under a predetermined condition.
