Abstract: The invention relates to a fluid supply system and seeks to provide a simpler, safer but reliable system than at present known. The fluid supply system comprises a multi-charge solid propellant gas generator and a fluid expulsion unit integrated into a single unit, the gas generator being provided in a cap (8) for a chamber (1) having a gas portion (3) and a fluid portion (2) and a movable partition (4) between these two portions operable to expel fluid from the chamber when the gas generator is rendered operative. The system also comprises ignition control means (22) operable to control the ignition of the solid propellant charges (13) when required to give a fully controllable system output.The system can be designed for supplying under pressure fluids such as hydraulic oil, fuels, oxidants and water and is particularly useful in aerospace applications.

Abstract: Disclosed is a control system for a pulsation dampener device. The system comprises a fluid reservoir, a pipeline assembly extending between the reservoir and the bladder of the pulsation dampener device, and a bladder sensor for gauging the fluid pressure within the bladder. The system is configured such that, when the pulsation dampener device is not operative and when the pressure of the fluid within the bladder is above or below a predetermined preoperative bladder threshold, the excess or deficient equivalent volume of fluid respectively is transferred from the bladder to the reservoir or from the reservoir to the bladder respectively. Further, when the pulsation dampener device is operative and when at least one pressure reading of the fluid within the bladder is above or below a predetermined operative bladder threshold, the excess or deficient equivalent volume of fluid respectively is transferred from the bladder to the reservoir or from the reservoir to the bladder respectively.

Abstract: Some of the present systems include a hydraulic power storage system having an accumulator configured to supply pressurized hydraulic fluid to a hydraulically actuated device to actuate the hydraulically actuated device and a drain in fluid communication with the accumulator and including a valve that is actuatable to drain hydraulic fluid from the hydraulic power storage system such that an internal pressure of the accumulator is reduced and a flow restrictor configured to reduce a flow rate of hydraulic fluid through the valve, a hydraulic pump configured to pressurize the accumulator, a pressure sensor configured to capture data indicative of the internal pressure of the accumulator, and a processor configured to actuate the hydraulic pump to increase the internal pressure of the accumulator if the internal pressure of the accumulator, as indicated in data captured by the pressure sensor, falls below a threshold pressure.

The method may comprise measuring a first pressure on a gas-side of an accumulator, measuring a second pressure on a fluid-side of the accumulator, finding a difference between the first pressure and the second pressure, and comparing the difference to a predetermined threshold. A system for detecting an accumulator failure is also provided. The system may comprise a non-transitory memory communicating with a processor, the non-transitory memory having instructions stored thereon that, in response to execution by the processor, cause the processor to perform operations. The operations may include receiving a first pressure measurement, receiving a second pressure measurement, determining a difference between the first pressure measurement and the second pressure measurement, and detecting the accumulator failure based on the difference.
