Abstract:
A peristaltic pump chamber with shape memory for pressure adjustment in tires is provided and which is part of the tire or is adjacent to the tire wall or is a part of a vehicle wheel, in particular for tires with an inner tube, e.g. bicycle tires.
Abstract:
A tire for a vehicle includes a tire body having a circumferentially extending tread portion with an outer surface and an inner surface. First and second sidewalls are joined to the tread portion, and the first and second sidewalls terminate in first and second edges, respectively, and are configured to be secured within a flange of a rim of a wheel. In addition, the tire includes a tire insert comprising a circumferential hoop of resilient material and positioned adjacent to the inner surface of the tread portion. The tire insert may have an arcuate cross section and a width that extends across from the first sidewall to the second sidewall. The resilient material of the tire insert may comprise spring steel of a steel alloy and be in a state of compression.
Abstract:
A tire includes a tire frame member that is formed from a resin material and has a bead portion, side portions, and a crown portion, a belt layer serving as an example of a reinforcing layer that is disposed at the outer side in a tire radial direction of the tire frame member, and has a higher bending rigidity than outer circumferential portions of the tire frame member, a top tread serving as an example of a tread that is formed from a rubber material and is disposed at the outer side in the tire radial direction of the belt layer, and first width direction grooves serving as an example of width direction grooves that are provided at the top tread. An aperture surface area of one of the first width direction grooves within a total ground contact surface of the tread of one circumferential direction portion of the tire is 0.02% or less relative to a surface area of a total ground contact surface of the tread of one circumferential portion of the tire.
Abstract:
Provided is a pneumatic tire vulcanizing method which includes the steps of setting a green tire in a mold, inserting a bladder inside the green tire, and expanding the bladder to press the bladder to an outer side in the tire radial direction and perform vulcanization molding. The bladder is expanded with a rigidity reinforcement ring interposed between an inner circumferential surface of a region of the green tire corresponding to a tread portion and an outer circumferential surface of a region of the bladder corresponding to the tread portion.
Abstract:
A toric air bag for a safety tire capable of sufficiently and equally contacting with a full inner face of a tire in the expansion-deformation of the toric air bag by a drop of an internal pressure in the tire, wherein at least an expansion-deforming portion of the toric air bag having a hollow torus shape as a whole is constructed with a tension support member, and to the expansion-deforming portion is given a property indicating a characteristic of extension ratio-tensile force that tensile force per unit width is substantially and gradually increased with the increase of elongation through the expansion-deformation.
Abstract:
A tube tire capable of simply, positively preventing the generation of a puncture due to contact of opposing portions of the wall surface of a tube. Double wall portions are formed at rim striking portions of a tube contained in a tire, and the internal spaces of the double wall portions are filled with a sealant. When the tire rides over an obstacle and the tire and the tube are clamped between the flange portions of a rim and the obstacle, the shock is damped by the double wall portions to prevent damage of the tube. Even if the double wall portions are damaged, the damaged portion is repaired with the sealant, thereby eliminating the generation of leakage of air.
Abstract:
A protective liner for a tire having a tread portion and housing an inflatable tube, the liner having an elongated panel of puncture resistant material adapted to be extended circumferentially about the tube within the tire; and a pair of ridges borne by the panel extending in spaced, substantially parallel relation along the panel for embedded engagement with the interior of the tire to maintain selected alignment between the tread portion thereof and the panel.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to vehicle tires of the kind having a crown belt formed from at least one pair of plies made of cords which are orientated in directions which intersect at small angles, and having sidewalls each reinforced by at least one strong half-ply making up a carcass which is interrupted under the belt. The invention which consists in a combination of the following features:(a) the tire has a low cross-section in which the ratio of height over width is less than 0.8, for example between 0.3 and 0.7, and,(b) the half carcass-plies are connected together in the area of the tire crown of the tire by a layer which has a strength of less than 50 daN per centimeter of width for an extension of 10% and whose elastic extensibility is at least 10%.
Abstract:
A safety tire having an inner tire defining a first tire chamber therein and a tubeless outer tire defining a second tire chamber between the inner and outer tires, which second chamber is isolated from the first chamber. A breaker consisting of rubberized cord plies is disposed on crown portion of the inner tire, so as to produce a sufficient cornering power for running at 100 Km/hour or faster even after breakdown of said outer tire.
