摘要： A media presentation and distribution system (MPDS) that handles rules-based presentation of non-programming media items, receives a user request (which includes user parameters) for delivery of programming media content at a first client device and transmits a media stream that includes the programming media content with a plurality of identifiers present with the programming media content. The MPDS further receives a request that includes one or more user preferences from the first client device, based on a detection of the plurality of identifiers. The MPDS further determines a set of non-programming media items for delivery to the first client device. The MPDS further controls presentation of a part of the media stream on a second client device that is paired with the first client device based on a movement of the second client device in a communication range of the second client device with the first client device.

The device may receive or access instructions for inserting secondary content into a location of the content asset that does not align with the boundaries between the content fragments. Based on the received instructions, the playback device may generate updated manifest information that identifies a first modified content fragment and a second modified content fragment. The location for inserting the secondary content in the updated manifest information may align with a new boundary of the first modified content fragment or the second modified content fragment. The device may share the updated manifest information, and may receive a modified manifest file, or content asset, comprising the modified content fragments.

In some embodiments, optimal paths for delivering the application or data content are computed and selected dynamically based upon context of network traffic. In some embodiments, large data content, such as video content, is segmented dynamically based on network context to reduce delay between a request for the video content by a client device and start of playback of the requested video content at the client device. In some embodiments, a server determines a segmentation profile for segmenting the video content into a plurality of video segments each having a segment size determined based on link performance metrics, generates a manifest file referencing the plurality of video segments in a temporal order and provide the manifest file to a client device.

摘要： Metadata for one or more highlights of a video stream may be extracted from one or more card images embedded in the video stream. The highlights may be segments of the video stream, such as a broadcast of a sporting event, that are of particular interest. According to one method, video frames of the video stream are stored. One or more information cards embedded in a decoded video frame may be detected by analyzing one or more predetermined video frame regions. Image segmentation, edge detection, and/or closed contour identification may then be performed on identified video frame region(s). Further processing may include obtaining a minimum rectangular perimeter area enclosing all remaining segments, which may then be further processed to determine precise boundaries of information card(s). The card image(s) may be analyzed to obtain metadata, which may be stored in association with at least one of the video frames.

The circuitry determines a media item in media content of a distribution network. An interactive item is overlaid over the media item in the media content of the distribution network. A personalized list is further generated based on a selection of the interactive item overlaid over the media item in the media content of the distribution network The circuitry further selects a user-selectable option in the generated personalized list with the media content on a client application engine for a defined time duration and determines a measure of an intent score of the user.
