A liquid crystal display and method for controlling brightness of an image on a liquid crystal display are provided, in which, a liquid crystal display panel displays an image, a light generating unit provides a laser beam to illuminate the liquid crystal display panel, a scanning unit scans the liquid crystal display panel with the laser beam, and a controller controls a speed of the scanning unit depending on a brightness of the image. Thus, the liquid crystal display is capable of improving a contrast of an image displayed on a liquid crystal panel using a laser as a backlight.

A projection system and a control method of the same, in which the projection system includes: a light source that emits light; a light gathering system that gathers the light emitted from the light source; a display device that generates an image by using the light gathered by the light gathering system; a projection lens system that enlarges and projects the image generated by the display device; a screen that displays the projected image thereon; a power level adjusting part that adjusts a level of the power supplied to the light source; a power source that supplies power to the power level adjusting part; and a power-supplying controller that determines a type of the power source and controls the power level adjusting part to power having a level that differs based on the determined type of the power source.

Disclosed is a tooth-cleaning paper combined with dental floss, in which the tooth-cleaning paper is formed of a thin paper or a gauze sterilized and wetted with an aqueous fluoride solution and has a plurality of edge cuts formed along an edge of the tooth-cleaning paper, and the dental floss is provided in a single strand or two strands along a margin of the tooth-cleaning paper to be fixed to the tooth-cleaning paper and has an exposed dental floss part formed by each of the plurality of edge cuts of the tooth-cleaning paper. The tooth-cleaning paper of the current invention is advantageous in terms of easily cleaning the teeth and interdental portions of users while not offending other persons at any time and in any place.

An optical projection system and an image display device having the same include a refraction part to create pincushion distortion in an image, and a reflection part to create barrel distortion in the pincushion-distorted image to compensate for the pincushion distortion and to project an enlarged image without distortion onto an image display surface. The refraction part includes a first cylinder symmetrical optic system having a first group of lenses including at least one aspheric lens, a second cylinder symmetrical optic system having a second group of lenses including at least one aspheric lens, a first planar reflecting optic system to bend the image that passes through the first cylinder symmetrical optic system by a first predetermined angle, and a second planar reflecting optic system to reflect the image that passes through the second cylinder symmetrical optic system to the reflection part. The reflection part includes a reflecting mirror inclinedly disposed at a predetermined angle and having an XY polynomial surface.

A magnetron includes an anode having an anode cylinder and anode vanes; a cathode having a filament; a condenser, a choke coil, and a plurality of leads for providing power to the filament; a plurality of magnets, pole pieces, and a yoke for forming a magnetic circuit; an antenna feeder and an antenna cap for transmitting a generated microwave outside of the magnetron; and a plurality of joints formed of a joining material between a metal component and a ceramic component of the magnetron. The joining material is diffused between the metal component and the ceramic component, to infiltrate into an inner part of the ceramic component directly, thereby joining the metal and ceramic components, and thereby also improving a reliability of a magnetron, facilitating a simple component assembly process and a simple magnetron fabrication process, permitting simplification of the fabrication process and reduction of a fabrication cost, and saving equipment cost as a high temperature furnace can be dispensed with.

An equalizer for a digital video disk player which is capable of obtaining a 5-tap transversal filter effect by providing a 3-tap transversal filter, reducing the number of elements, and obtaining a reliable 5-tap frequency characteristic. The equalizer includes first through third buffers for preventing a jittering problem of an RF signal due to a delay time, a 2T delay unit for 2T-delaying an output signal from the first buffer, a 4T delay unit for 4T-delaying an output signal from the third buffer, a summing unit for summing output signals from the first and third buffers with an output signal from the second buffer, and a low pass filter for allowing the summed output signals from the summing unit to have an equalizer characteristic suggested in the DVDP specification.

A magnetron which is capable of optimizing a resonance structure by changing the number of vanes, the height of vanes, an outer diameter of a cathode and a diameter of a working space, the improvements are characterized in that the resonance unit has ten vanes having each height of 10.5 mm.about.12.5 mm, an outer diameter of the cathode is 4.0 mm.about.4.6 mm, a diameter of the working space between each symmetrical vane is 9.0 mm.about.12.0 mm to obtain a high frequency output of 1250 W.about.1500 W from an operating voltage of 4.3 kV.about.4.7 kV.

Provided is a Radio Frequency (RF) communication apparatus and a method for detecting power. The RF communication apparatus includes a receiver that receives a segment value indicating one of multiple transmission output power ranges, a power detector that detects a strength of an RF transmission signal in an output power range corresponding to the segment value, and a transmitter that transmits the strength of the detected RF transmission signal. The power detector includes a feedback unit that receives the fed-back RF transmission signal, an RF core unit that generates a Root Mean Square (RMS) of the RF transmission signal, and a converter that converts a current signal corresponding to the RMS of the RF transmission signal into a voltage signal, and converts the converted voltage signal from a differential signal to a single signal.

The process can yield photovoltaic cells, piezoelectric crystals, thermoelectric layers, optoelectronic layers, light emitting diodes, ferroelectric layers, thin film transistors, floating gate memory devices, imaging devices, phase change layers, and sensor devices.
