Abstract:
Techniques are described that can be used to assign identifiers to carriers of a multi-carrier mobile station. In some cases, each carrier of the mobile station is assigned the same identifiers. In some cases, each carrier of the mobile station is assigned a unique identifier on each channel.
Abstract:
Technology for communicating access point (AP) information for traffic offloading is disclosed. A request may be received, at a wireless local area network (WLAN) domain manager (DM) from an evolved node B (eNB), for access point (AP) information about one or more WLAN access points (APs) for traffic offloading. The access point (AP) information may be obtained for the one or more WLAN APs, at the WLAN DM, based on at least in part operations and management (OAM) reports from the one or more WLAN APs containing the AP information. The AP information may be communicated, from the WLAN DM to the eNB via a network manager (NM), about the one or more WLAN APs to enable traffic offloading from the eNB to at least one of the ALAN APs.
Abstract:
Embodiments of a system and method for reporting uplink control information (UCI) are generally described herein. In some embodiments, a first and second component carrier (CC) is provided for a user equipment (UE). The first and second CC are configured with transmission mode (TM) 10 and TMs 1-9, respectively. A first channel state information (CSI) report for the first CC with TM 10 and a second CSI report for the second CC with at least one of TMs 1-9 are scheduled for transmission in a subframe. A collision is detected between the first and second CSI reports. Priority is assigned to the first CSI report or the second CSI report based on a prioritization parameter. The prioritized CSI report is transmitted based the prioritization parameter.
Abstract:
Technology for establishing a device to device (D2D) connection is disclosed. One device comprises a UE that includes a proximity discovery module configured to receive discovery information from at least one of a wireless wide area network (WWAN) and a wireless local area network (WLAN) to assist in establishing a D2D communication channel with at least one additional UE. A D2D communication module is configured to establish the D2D communication channel between the UE and the at least one additional UE using the discovery information. The D2D communication channel is established in a licensed radio frequency band and is managed by the WWAN.
Abstract:
Embodiments of a distributed antenna system (DAS) and method for enhanced positioning in a wireless network are generally described herein. In some embodiments, an enhanced Node-B (eNB) operates as part of a DAS that includes one or more nodes having the same cell ID as the eNB. The eNB is to transmit a UE-specific reference signal and configure one or more of the other nodes of the cell to transmit UE-specific reference signals that are distinguishable from each other and from the UE-specific reference signal that is transmitted by the eNB. The eNB may receive location estimate information from user equipment (UE) that is determined at least in part from the UE-specific reference signals. The eNB may also configure the nodes to perform cooperative OFDMA transmission techniques for the UEs operating in the cell.
Abstract:
Embodiments herein describe apparatuses, systems, and methods for signaling to support downlink coordinated multipoint (CoMP) communications with a user equipment (UE) in a wireless communication network. In embodiments, the UE may be configured with a plurality of channel state information (CSI) processes (e.g., via radio resource control (RRC) signaling) to use for providing CSI feedback to an evolved Node B (eNB) to support downlink CoMP communications. The UE may be configured with a plurality of sets of CSI processes. The UE may further receive a downlink control information (DCI) message from the eNB that indicates one of the configured sets of CSI processes on which the UE is to provide CSI feedback to the UE. The UE may generate the CSI feedback for the indicated set of CSI processes, and transmit the CSI feedback to the eNB in a CSI report.
Abstract:
Generally, this disclosure provides apparatus and methods for improved indication of cell information in a wireless network. The cell information may include an evolved Node B (eNB) carrier type. The UE device may include a receiver circuit configured to receive a Radio Resource Control (RRC) message from an evolved Node B (eNB) of a serving cell, the RRC message comprising carrier information associated with the serving cell eNB; a processing circuit configured to extract, from the serving cell eNB carrier information: a carrier type, synchronization information and Radio Resource Management (RRM) measurement information; a synchronization circuit configured to synchronize the UE to the serving cell eNB based on the synchronization information associated with the serving cell eNB carrier information; and a signal measurement circuit configured to perform RRM signal measurements on the serving cell eNB based on the RRM measurement information associated with the serving cell eNB carrier information.
Abstract:
Embodiments of a mobile station and a method performed by a base station for transmitting a paging message to an idle-mode mobile station are disclosed herein. In some embodiments, a multicarrier paging information (MC-PAG-Info) message is transmitted to indicate a time-slot and paging carrier for a subsequent transmission of a paging message to an idle-mode mobile station. The idle-mode mobile station may monitor the indicated paging carrier during the indicated time-slot of a paging listening interval for receipt of a paging message directed to the idle-mode mobile station. In some embodiments, the indicated time-slot and the paging carrier are determined by the idle-mode mobile station using a device identifier of the idle-mode mobile station and hash modulo parameters provided within the paging information message.
Abstract:
Multicarrier techniques for wireless communications system are described. An apparatus may comprise a carrier management module to define a primary carrier for use by a multicarrier communications system to communicate control information, and a secondary carrier for use by the multicarrier communications system to communicate media information, with the secondary carrier having a communication parameter and technology that is potentially different from the primary carrier. Other embodiments are described and claimed.
Abstract:
