The first pad is formed on a bottom surface of the first pad forming portion and connected to the stationary electrode through a first interconnection. The movable electrode is formed on a bottom surface of the second capacitor forming portion to oppose the stationary electrode. The second pad is formed in the second pad forming portion and connected to the movable electrode through a second interconnection. The extraction electrodes are connected to the first and second pads and extracted outside through holes in the lower wafer. The lower and upper wafers are bonded to each other such that their pad forming portions are covered with their bonding surfaces.

In producing an electronic device such as an overcurrent-protection element, a large substrate 21 is prepared with a plurality of element mounting sections 50. Electrodes 25 and 26 are formed on the surface of the substrate 21 in each of the element mounting sections 50. A fine metal wire 27 is connected between the electrodes 25 and 26 to form a fuse element. A framework portion 41 surrounds each element mounting section 50, forming a depression 24. The depression 24 houses the fine metal wire 27. A cover member 31 is placed over the top of the framework 41, hermetically sealing the depressions 24. Subsequently, the cover member 31 and substrate 21 are cut together, separating each of the element mounting sections 50 to obtain individual electronic devices.

A silencer is comprised of an outer sleeve, an inner sleeve having a number of pores, and sound absorbing material including heat-resistant fibers packed between the outer sleeve and the inner sleeve. The sound absorbing material is wound directly around the outside of inner sleeve with two or more turns so that the thickness of wound sound absorbing material around the inner sleeve is greater than dimension of a gap between the inner sleeve and the outer sleeve to give interference between sound absorbing material and the inner and outer sleeves. The sound absorbing material with the inner sleeve is press-fitted into the outer sleeve. According to the present invention, sound absorbing material is prevented from being blown out by exhaust gas flowing through the inside of the inner sleeve so that the silencer is improved in durability. The dimensional stability of the outer diameter of sound absorbing material wound around the inner sleeve can be gained so that the press-fitting operation of sound absorbing material wound around the inner sleeve can be performed stably and the density of sound absorbing material can be stabilized.

A bone mineral content measuring apparatus for obtaining the bone mineral content of an object to be examined by irradiating X-rays onto the object and measuring the X-rays which have passed through the object. An X-ray generating device generates X-rays having a continuous spectrum. The X-rays generated pass through an X-ray filter before the irradiation of the object or after the transmission of the object. The X-ray filter is composed of a substance having an X-ray absorbing characteristic with the K-absorption edge at a predetermined energy value. The X-rays which have passed through the X-ray filter and the object are detected by the X-ray detector. A data analyzer inputs the detected X-ray detection data and analyzes the bone mineral content of the object on the basis of the X-ray absorbing characteristic of the X-ray filter.
