Abstract: A prosthesis can be configured to grasp intralumenal tissue when deployed within a body cavity and prevent axial flow of fluid around an exterior of the prosthesis. The prosthesis can include an expandable frame configured to radially expand and contract for deployment within the body cavity and a valve body. The expandable frame can include a frame body and a supplemental frame. The valve body can include a plurality of leaflets and one or more intermediate components. The one or more intermediate components can couple at least a portion of the leaflets to the expandable frame. The prosthesis can include an annular flap positioned around an exterior of the expandable frame.

Abstract: A crimping system for a prosthetic heart valve comprises an elongate rigid body and a radially flexible, tubular sock. The body has an inner lumen extending along a central longitudinal axis between an insertion end and an outlet end. The inner lumen has a greater diameter at the insertion end than at the outlet end. The sock is configured to receive a radially compressible prosthetic heart valve in a radially expanded state within the sock and to pull the valve through the inner lumen of the rigid body from the insertion end to the outlet end with the sock being positioned between an outer surface of the valve and an inner surface of the rigid body. The valve is radially compressed by the inner surface of the rigid body as the sock pulls the valve along the longitudinal axis toward the outlet end of the lumen.

Abstract: A prosthetic heart valve includes a collapsible and expandable frame having a main body, an atrial portion, and at least one ventricular anchor. The atrial portion extends radially outwardly relative to the main body and the ventricular anchor extends from a ventricular end of the main body. The main body and the atrial portion are preferably separate metal components that are coupled together via sutures or a fabric member. The prosthetic heart valve also includes a valve structure that is supported in the main body of the frame. The valve structure has a plurality of leaflets for regulating the flow of blood in one direction.

Abstract: Suture clip deployment devices for applying suture clips to sutures are described. Some embodiments can include a generally tubular main body and a vacuum port located at the distal end, a hollow inner body longitudinally slidable within the main body and extending from the main body at its distal end, and a suture recess located in the generally tubular main body. At least one suture clip configured to frictionally fit on an outer surface of the inner body is deployed during use. Clip deployment can occur after a vacuum source is applied to the device so as to draw the suture into the device. The suture lines can be retrieved through the suture recess, and the device can be actuated so as to deliver the suture clip off the delivery device and onto the suture, locking the suture in place.

Abstract: The present disclosure concerns embodiments and methods of use of an introducer that is adapted to facilitate insertion of a prosthetic device, such as a prosthetic heart valve, into a patient's vasculature. In one embodiment, the introducer comprises an elongated body defining a central lumen extending between distal and proximal ends of the body. The introducer body can also have a longitudinally extending gap extending along the length of the body between the distal end proximal ends. The gap in the introducer allows a user to place the introducer around implant sutures by passing the sutures through the gap and into the central lumen. Similarly, the gap allows the introducer to be easily removed from the sutures and/or a delivery device by passing them outwardly through the gap.
