Vinyl-terminated macromonomer oligomerization, namely, a process to produce polymacromonomers comprising contacting a vinyl-terminated macromonomer with a catalyst system capable of oligomerizing vinyl-terminated macromonomer, in the presence of an aluminum containing compound, a zinc containing compound, or a combination thereof, under polymerization conditions to produce a polymacromonomer, and polymacromonomers produced thereby. Also, polymacromonomers having a degree of polymerization greater than 10, a glass transition temperature Tg of less than 60° C., and an Mn of greater than or equal to about 5000 Da.

The present disclosure relates to ansa-metallocene catalyst compounds that include (1) a first indenyl ligand substituted at the 3-position with a substituted or unsubstituted C4-C40 hydrocarbyl group, wherein the hydrocarbyl group is branched at the β-position, and (2) a second indenyl ligand substituted at its 3-position with a substituted or unsubstituted alkyl group or a β-branched alkyl group. Catalyst systems prepared with the catalyst compounds, polymerization methods using such catalyst systems, and polyolefins made using the polymerization methods are also described.

This invention relates to a composition can include a propylene polymer and up to about 60 wt % of an ethylene-acrylate copolymer, based on a weight of the propylene polymer and the ethylene-acrylate copolymer. The composition can have a strain hardening ratio of greater than 1 to about 15, where the extensional viscosity is measured at a Hencky strain rate of 1 s−1 and at a temperature of 190° C. The ethylene-acrylate copolymer can include units derived from ethylene and at least 5 mol % of units derived from a C1-C4 alkyl acrylate.

This disclosure relates to a composition for use as an additive for fuels and lubricants including a reductive amination product of a vinyl terminated macromonomer (VTM) based aldehyde. Optionally aldehyde is reacted with the amino compound under condensation conditions sufficient to give an imine intermediate, and the imine intermediate is reacted under hydrogenation conditions sufficient to give the composition. The aldehyde is formed by reacting a VTM under hydroformylation conditions sufficient to form the aldehyde. A reductive amination method for making a composition for use as an additive for fuels and lubricants. The method includes reacting a VTM based aldehyde with an amino compound containing at least one —NH— group under condensation conditions sufficient to give an imine intermediate, and reacting the imine intermediate under hydrogenation conditions sufficient to give said composition. The aldehyde is formed by reacting a VTM under hydroformylation conditions sufficient to form the aldehyde.
