    摘要: The present invention provides an air-fuel ratio feedback control apparatus for an internal-combustion engine. The apparatus includes an air-fuel ratio detector that is disposed in an exhaust system of the engine so as to detect an air-fuel ratio of exhaust gas, NOx purifier for purifying NOx contained in the exhaust gas during a lean operation and feedback controller for making a feedback control upon an air-fuel ratio of air-fuel mixture to be supplied to the engine based on an output of the air-fuel ratio detector. A diagnostic system diagnoses the NOx purifier based on an output of an O2 sensor disposed downstream of the NOx purifier when the air-fuel ratio of the air-fuel mixture to be supplied to the engine has been changed from lean to rich and gain changer for making a feedback control gain of the feedback controller smaller when the air-fuel ratio is changed from lean to rich.

    摘要: A misfire detecting apparatus for an internal combustion engine is provided. The engine has an output shaft connected via a torsion element to an input shaft of a transmission mechanism. A transmission rotational speed parameter indicative of a rotational speed of the input shaft is detected. A modified engine rotational speed parameter is calculated by modifying the detected engine rotational speed parameter based on the transmission rotational speed parameter, an engine rotation moment on the input side of the torsion element, and a transmission rotation moment on the output side of the torsion element. An average change amount of the modified rotational speed parameter, and an inertia speed changing component, are calculated. Further, a corrected rotational speed parameter is calculated by correcting the modified rotational speed parameter according to the average change amount and the inertia speed changing component. A relative speed parameter is calculated based on the corrected rotational speed parameter, and a determination parameter is calculated by integrating the relative speed parameter. The misfire determination is performed based on the determination parameter.

    摘要: An exhaust gas purifying apparatus for an internal-combustion engine, including a three-way catalyst, nitrogen oxide purifier that is disposed downstream of the three-way catalyst, an upstream oxygen sensor that is disposed between the three-way catalyst and the nitrogen oxide purifier, and a downstream oxygen sensor that is disposed downstream of the nitrogen oxide purifier. An abnormality determination criterion is set in accordance with the exhaust gas amount of the internal-combustion engine wherein the criterion is equivalent to a time period until the output of the downstream oxygen density sensor is read since the output of the upstream oxygen density sensor is changed to rich after the air-fuel ratio of the exhaust gas was over from lean to rich. Any abnormality of the nitrogen oxide purifier is determined when the output of the downstream oxygen density sensor has been changed to rich before the time period represented by the criterion elapses.

    摘要: An abnormality detection system is provided, which detects abnormality in an evaporative fuel control system for an internal combustion engine. A plurality of temperature sensors are arranged in an evaporative fuel storage device at different locations for detecting the temperature of an adsorbent or in the vicinity thereof within the storage device at the different locations. An ECU controls at least one of charging of evaporative fuel from the fuel tank to the storage device and purging of evaporative fuel from the storage device to the intake system of the engine. The ECU determines the presence or absence of an abnormality in the evaporative fuel control system, based upon output values from the temperature sensors assumed when the control system is operative. A state in which adsorption of evaporative fuel generated in the fuel tank to the adsorbent of the storage device has been completed is detected, based upon the amount of a rise in temperature detected while the charging is being effected. The ECU effects the abnormality determination after the state has been detected. The system may be applied to an internal combustion engine in which the air-fuel ratio is controlled by the use of an air-fuel ratio correction coefficient determined in response to an output from an air-fuel ratio sensor.
