摘要: A wheel end is provided where the spindle is an integral cast and machined trumpet-shaped arm made from high strength ductile iron, and a seal retainer is provided to locate and protect the inner wheel bearing and wheel end from debris. The trumpet-shaped arm is formed with a long parabolic radius machined with a reasonable surface finish to reduce or significantly eliminate stress concentrations. The mating cast iron seal retainer is employed to provide proper location for the inner wheel bearing and to transfer axial loads of the bearing to the spindle shoulder. In addition, the seal retainer retains the inner half of the seal face and provides a sealing surface to prevent escape of the axle wheel end oil. In this design, the outside diameter of the seal retainer is made to fit inside the wheel hub bore where it is protected from rocks, stumps, other debris, etc. The shape of the back exterior of the retainer is made in such a way that vines, wires, rope, etc that become entangled in the wheel(s) are passed onto the trumpet arm where they will do no damage.

摘要: The present invention relates to a wheel comprising a hub formed inside the wheel, a rim portion separated outwardly from the hub and forming a circumference on which a tire is fitted, a plurality of spokes connecting the hub and the rim portion, wherein the rim portion is characterized by including an air-tight rim formed in a cylindrical shape, and a protruded grid portion having a plurality of first recesses by being protruded from and equispaced around the circumference of the air-tight rim. In this way, the honeycomb rim-type wheel can be readily manufactured to have lightweight using a single casting job without sacrificing durability thanks to the protruded grid portion on the circumference of the air-tight rim, thereby reducing time and cost for manufacturing by reduced usage of molten metal.

摘要: The purpose of the present invention is to minimize decline in endurance, while improving vibration performance. The spokes of an airless tire are provided, as an integrated unit, with an outside annular portion joined to the inside peripheral surface of a tread ring, an inside annular portion joined to the outside peripheral surface of a hub, and a spoke plate portion of constant thickness providing linkage therebetween. The radial inner edge and the radial outer edge of the center plane of thickness of the spoke plate portion are respectively diagonal with respect to a tire axial-direction line. The intersection line at which the center plane of thickness intersects a plane that is at a right angle to the tire axial-direction line constitutes a straight line. The spoke length, which is the length from the radial inner edge to the radial outer edge along the intersection line, is constant for any given location in the tire axial direction.
