    摘要: In one embodiment, a wafer scale radar antenna module (WSAM) is provided that includes: a substrate; a plurality of antennas adjacent the substrate; an RF feed network adjacent the substrate, the RF feed network coupling to a distributed plurality of amplifiers integrated with the substrate, wherein the RF feed network and the distributed plurality of amplifiers are configured to form a resonant network such that if a timing signal is injected into an input port of the RF feed network, the resonant network oscillates to provide a globally synchronized RF signal to a plurality of integrated antenna circuits, wherein each integrated antenna circuits includes a corresponding subset of antennas from the plurality of antennas, and wherein each integrated antenna circuit includes a pulse shaping circuit having a plurality of selectable delay paths, each pulse shaping circuit being configured to rectify and level shift a version of the globally synchronized signal through selected ones of the selectable delay paths to provide an pulse train output signal; and a controller operable to control each integrated antenna circuit such that only selected pulses from the pulse train output signal are transmitted through the integrated antenna circuit's subset of antennas to form transmitted pulses.

    摘要: A re-configurable low noise amplifier utilizing feedback capacitors is disclosed. The low noise amplifier has output transistors, capacitor switch cells, and capacitance distributors all in an output portion. The output transistors are for controlling selection of a specific frequency band in a wide band of frequencies. The capacitor switch cells are for adjusting a harmonic frequency for the specific frequency band. The capacitance distributor is for determining an amount of gain, and according to the gain, an output impedance feeds back to an input portion of the low noise amplifier for input matching. Since the output portion is at high impedance and suitable for a wide band of frequencies, input matching not only makes the low noise amplifier applicable to kinds of wireless communication standards, but also fulfills high gain and low noise figure.

    摘要: In a broadband low-noise amplifier circuit to be used in a multichannel reception system, a capacitance of a variable capacitor (9) is controlled by a resonance frequency control circuit (4) so that a resonance frequency of a load unit (2) comprising the variable capacitor (9) and an inductor (10) matches a desired RF signal frequency. Therefore, high gain and broadband can be realized at the same time without increasing power consumption, and consequently, a reception system having reduced power consumption and high sensitivity for all channels can be realized.

There are variable capacitors and resistors in the matching input and output circuits. A received signal strength indicator receives the band-pass filtered intermediate-frequency signal and generates an indication signal corresponding to the amplitude of the received signal. The variable capacitors and resistors are tuned by the indication signal from the received signal strength indicator. Thus, the gain of the high frequency amplifier is automatically controlled.

One aspect of embodiments of the invention is splitting the functionality of a final stage impedance matching network (IMN) into two parts, comprising a base set of off-chip IMN components and an on-chip IMN tuning component. The on-chip IMN tuning component may be a digitally tunable capacitor (DTC). In one embodiment, an integrated circuit having a power amplifier, an on-chip IMN tuner, and a selector switch is configured to be coupled to an off-chip set of IMN components. In another embodiment, an integrated circuit having an on-chip IMN tuner and a selector switch is configured to be coupled through an off-chip set of IMN components to a separate integrated circuit having an RF power amplifier.
