Abstract:
An image forming apparatus includes a history storage unit, a history writing unit, and a history reading unit. The history storage unit is configured to store a job history that shows a history of a job. The history writing unit is configured to divide that job history into a plurality of histories, add identification information to the plurality of histories for associating the plurality of histories with each other, and write the plurality of histories to the history storage unit. The history reading unit is configured to read that plurality of histories on the basis of the identification information.
Abstract:
For automatically transmitting an image file, a system transmits the file automatically through specifically specifying information for file transmission such as an address of a destination. The system includes a memory for storing a data file and an automatic transmission control file for briefly describing information of a file name of the file to be transmitted and a destination address, and a communication unit for transmitting the data file according to the automatic transmission control file. Therefore, the system can transmit the data file automatically only by having a memory storing the data file and automatic transmission control file connected to the communication unit.
Abstract:
A mail terminal senses insertion of a document into the terminal, scans the document in response to the sensed document insertion, and transmits the scanned document electronically over a telephone network. A host server receives the document over the telephone network, determines the name of the addressee from the received document, looks up document delivery instructions stored in a memory in association with the name of the addressee, and delivers the document to the addressee according to the delivery instructions. The mail terminal also prints documents that it receives from the host server.
Abstract:
A communication system includes a printing unit, an image scanning unit, an accessing system connectable to a web page. The printing unit prints out the web page on a first recording medium. When the web page includes an input field and the data input in the input field is to be transmitted to a predetermined destination, the printing unit prints out an image having a fill-in area to be filled in by the user, and a destination area indicating the destination, on a second recording medium. The communication system includes a scan controller that controls the scanning unit to scan the second recording medium to capture an image thereof, a recognition system that recognizes contents written in the fill-in area and the destination area based on the scanned image, and a data transmitting system that transmits contents extracted from the fill-in area to the destination extracted from the destination area.
Abstract:
A safe electronic mail system for electronic mail communication, realizing connection between mail servers using a dial-up line not through the Internet. The transmitting party is provided with a transmission mail server, a transmission client for generation electronic mail information, and a transmission agent, which is a client for transmitting via a dial-up line. The receiving party is provided with a reception mail server, a reception client which can be the final destination of electronic mail information, and a reception agent, which is a client for receiving via a dial-up line. The transmission agent transmits electronic mail whose final destination is a designated reception client to the reception agent via the dial-up line as a facsimile image, and the reception agent transfers a received electronic mail to the reception mail server.
Abstract:
A facsimile device includes a transmitting unit, a receiving unit, an obtaining unit, and a controller. The transmitting unit transmits, when receiving a transmission instruction of image data while a communication state is established with a first destination of the image data, the image data to the first destination. The receiving unit receives, from the first destination, first destination information indicating the first destination. The obtaining unit obtains second destination information indicating a destination of the image data from the image data. The controller controls the transmitting unit so as not to transmit the image data when the first destination indicated by the first destination information and the second destination indicated by the second destination information are different from each other.
Abstract:
Systems and methods of storing a message directed to a user and delivering the message from a network server to a user's client device provide for receiving the message and storing the message to an access-restricted user-specific message storage area. When an access request from an application program executing on the user's client device is received via a packet switched network in accordance with an Internet protocol, a determination is made whether to grant or deny the access request. If the request is granted, a link is provided to the user, wherein selection of the link causes the message to be transmitted to the application program via the packet switched network in accordance with the Internet protocol.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a facsimile system having first and second devices interconnected via a network. The first device allows a user to issue a facsimile transmission request, and the second device receives this facsimile transmission request and executes a facsimile transmission to a transmission destination. The first device has a determination unit for determining a caller telephone number based upon the user who issued the facsimile transmission request. The second device has a notification unit for notifying the transmission destination of the caller telephone number, which has been determined by the determination unit, when the facsimile transmission to the transmission destination is executed by the second device based upon the facsimile transmission request from the first device.
Abstract:
The present invention enables any authentication for a plurality of authentication methods with an authentication server for storing management data on a user. The present invention uses one of set information for logging in with an IC card and user input information from operation means in the case of logging in to a directory server; requests the directory server from a Kerberos authentication operation part for a service ticket; requests the directory server from an LDAP communication operation part for authentication with the service ticket obtained by the relevant request; and requests the directory server from the authentication processing functioning part for a search for granting use of the relevant MFP to a user with one of card information read by a card reader and a user name of user input information in the case where authentication to the directory server by the relevant request is successful.
Abstract:
An image forming apparatus is provided that is capable of, in displaying a preview of image data to be output, confirming a confirmation point in accordance with an operation mode immediately without performing a user operation such as enlarging, reducing or shifting. The image processing apparatus (illustrated as a digital multi-functional peripheral) is capable of operating in each of a plurality of operation modes. The image forming apparatus is provided with an image display portion such as a touch panel for displaying a preview of image data and a set value storage portion such as control memory for storing a display set value in displaying a preview image at first on the image display portion for each operation mode.
