摘要: Methods of making an environmentally acceptable shaped article. In an embodiment method comprises machining a sheet comprising crumb rubber within a polyolefin matrix into a plurality of particles to form a reground mixture; and processing the reground mixture at an elevated temperature into a mold to form said shaped article, wherein the shaped article has a substantially more evenly dispersed mixture of said crumb rubber within the matrix of said shaped article than within the matrix of said sheet or the particles of the reground mixture.

摘要: A composition comprising polypropylene having a high melt strength suitable for an injection stretch blow molding (ISBM) process is provided. Such a composition includes a polypropylene (PP) copolymer having a branched structure. The PP copolymer is a random copolymer derived from propylene and at least one comonomer selected from ethylene, any C4-C8 alpha-olefin, or any combinations thereof. The composition has a melt flow index in a range of from 8 g/10 minutes to 30 g/10 minutes. A resulting fabricated article, a method of making the composition, and a method of using the composition are also provided.

摘要: A thermoplastic elastomer composition for overmolding a predominantly polyamide substrate, a method for the preparation of an overmolded article, and an overmolded article having a layer of thermoplastic elastomer is provided. The thermoplastic elastomer composition comprises a thermoplastic vulcanizate, an olefinic block copolymer, and a maleated functionalized polyolefin copolymer. The method for the preparation of the overmolded article comprises heating the thermoplastic elastomer composition followed by applying the heated composition to at least a portion of the predominantly polyamide substrate.

摘要: Provided is a method for producing a thermoplastic elastomer composition that can form a molded article having both good appearance and high stiffness. The method for producing a thermoplastic elastomer composition comprises the following first step and second step, wherein the produced thermoplastic elastomer composition contains 5 mass % or less of a mineral oil (C): first step: a step of melt-kneading polypropylene (A-1) and an ethylene-based copolymer rubber (B) in the presence of an organic peroxide, the polypropylene (A-1) being polypropylene of which 20° C. xylene insoluble fraction has an intrinsic viscosity [ηcxis] of 0.1 dl/g or more and less than 1.5 dl/g; and second step: a step of further adding polypropylene (A-2) of which 20° C. xylene insoluble fraction has an intrinsic viscosity [ηcxis] of 1.5 dl/g or more and 7 dl/g or less, and melt-kneading the resulting mixture.

摘要: A binder for an injection moulding composition including: from 40 to 55 volume percent of a polymeric base, from 35 to 45 volume percent of a mixture of waxes or a mixture of wax and palm oil, and at least 5 volume percent of at least one surfactant, wherein the polymeric base is formed of copolymers of ethylene and methacrylic or acrylic acid, copolymers of ethylene and propylene and/or maleic anhydride-grafted polypropylene, and polymers soluble in isopropyl alcohol, propyl alcohol and/or turpentine, and chosen from the group including a cellulose acetate butyrate, a polyvinyl butyral and a copolyamide, the respective quantities of the binder components being such that their sum is equal to 100 volume percent of the binder.

摘要: A terpolymer compositions made from or containing:
A) From 80 wt % to 97 wt %; of a first propylene, ethylene, 1-butene terpolymer having:
i) the content of ethylene derived units ranging from 0.5 wt % to 3.2 wt %;
ii) the content of 1-butene derived units ranging from 7.2 wt % to 14.8 wt %; and
B) From 20 wt % to 3 wt %; of a second propylene, ethylene, 1-butene terpolymer having:
i) the content of ethylene derived units ranging from 0.5 wt % to 3.2 wt %;
ii) the content of 1-butene derived units ranging from 14.4 wt % to 26.5 wt %; and
the terpolymer composition having the melt flow rate, MFR, measured according to ISO 1133 at 230° C. with a load of 2.16 kg, ranging from 3.0 g/10 min to 20.0 g/10 min; the sum of the amounts of A) and B) being 100 wt %.
